    What happened to Grandpa Ortiz?
Not much interest in this fight, Merhy got beat by Lerena. Beating Yoka is no achievement.

Think Merhy has a decent chance here.

Who else would you want Anderson to fight?
Ortiz turned it down by demanding more money than what is backing Anderson.

The top of the division are all busy at the moment, which is crazy. Saudi money got things moving.
And Top Rank isn´t willing to put big money behind Anderson at the moment, as he is not a draw.

Richard Torresz Jr. In house fight that would burst Anderson's hype bubble.

Frank Sanchez, Kevin Lerena, Ajagba, Kabayel or Bakole would all probably ask for less than Ortiz, boost his ranking and offer him a sturdier test than Merhy. Let's not forget Anderson wants to fight Hrgovic and wants big fights in Saudi. He needs to get some statement wins to get the attention. Whilst he probably is a similar level to Merhy, Jermaine Franklin would be a better opponent aswell!

Sanchez, Lerana, Kabayel and Bakole: I am fairly certain they all have something being worked on.
This leaves you with Franklin, Ajagba and Merhy.
I don´t mind Merhy, who is coming off a win. He is a step in the right direction and keeps the high level of competition going.
Heck, I would argue Merhy is the best guy Anderson will have faced thus far.

And again, I do think it comes down to the money. I don´t think they are spending a lot of money trying to get Anderson fights at the moment. Merhy is probably the best guy they could afford.

    Yea.
I know TR loves in house fights but they have been trying to build up their HW stable for a while, so they are not that keen on making certain fights.

And now thinking about it, I´d say they are buying their time with Ajagba and hoping to land that WBC title shot. A few more defenses of his BS silver belt should be enough to buy a spot among the top 3.
Anderson is going the WBO route.

Anderson should win this. Backing a dominant points win here with Anderson winning each round.

Man I hope he fights a legit fighter in his next fight. Ajagba would be the perfect fight for Anderson.

I dont know, Jared has 0 legit opponents and Ryad has golden olympian on his resume. If Anderson beats him, he is for real.
