How did he not beat anyone? So far he has a very good resume, he beat Forrest, Martin, Rudenko and Arias...

In Wilders defence (find myself defending him more often these days even though Im not a fan) his first 30 or so fights had zero fanfare, I think possibly because his boxing ability was so poor, it seemed to take a lifetime for him to get any promotional traction, whereas Anderson has had a lot of fanfare and promotion

Based on the hype v reality of Anderson so far he is a hype job, but he is still young and still learning. I'd like to see him progressing with more frequent fights, a little bit more out of the spotlight. Similar to somebody like a Campbell Hatton in the sense that they could probably develop their skills better without the crazy expectations that come with the level of hype he's received

Ask again in 2 years, I think Anderson will have either been found and won't be relevant, or he'll come into his own and be a force in the division, time will tell

Can't see him ever being The Man at heavy though

I'm a little confused why you trash Wilders resume and Andersons resume and then say they should have fought guys like Mahmoudov and Kossobutskyi. Who exactly did those guys beat that makes them credible opponents?

Cons: He's got some defensive liabilities and hes said multiple times he doesn't really want to box for more than 2-3 years (never a good sign). I think he thinks he's slicker than he actually is on defense and that almost bit him against a late replacement, old Charles Martin.

Pros: he's got a network and established promotion behind him pushing him to the moon, thus his high ranking in the belt orgs. He's pretty fast for a heavy and has some pop in his punches. I also like that he's actually active, which is becoming increasingly rare in the heavyweight division.

Is he improving? Hard to tell since after late replacement Martin he fought even more used up Rudenko. Lot of guys look good against journeymen and fringe contenders only to stumble and look subpar against the top of the division. Now hes still young and he could improve and those athletic gifts can carry him pretry far, but I still worry based on him wanting to get out of boxing in a few years, if he does pick up a loss he'll take a very long hiatus away from boxing.

Jared Anderson's rise reminds me more of Bryant Jennings' rise than anyone else.

Jennings got some prime TV dates on NBC around his 12th fight. Beat a former champ in Liakhovich in his 13th. Fought a couple other guys who were nipping at the top 10 but not quite there.

Jennings finished fighting Spzilka and Perez on HBO (which no longer exists) to get a shot with the elderly Wlad in a non-PPV bout, which he lost in a kinda dull fight.

That seems like the path Jared Anderson is on. He gives off a lot of Bryant Jennings vibes at the moment.

    Who knows, though.

He needs to start fighting opponents with similar career aspirations. Anderson is getting matched against people being brought in to lose and he is already Ring rated...

    Where is his:
    Ajagba v Sanchez
    Hunter v Bakole
    Yoka v Bakole
    Wallin v Granat
    Wallin v Gassiev
    Dubois v Joyce
    Joshua v Whyte
    etc.
    etc.

I think it is correct to move him slowly, but he is rated way too highly across the board without having fought anyone of note.

All good fights for a 16-0 prospect, but not a top 10 contender.

Arias was closest to a good fight, but he was an overmatched cruiserweight. The other three names are just resume filler at that point of their respective careers. Which is absolutely fine for a 16-0 prospect.

At this point he is way over hyped until he fights a live body. Not deserving of his rankings.
