Jared Anderson vs Zhan Kossobutsky

Fair play to Anderson this looks a hard fight to be taking at 23. I watched Anderson's last fight first time I have watched him. I don't think he matched the hype he's got but this looks like a stern test on paper. Not watched this Kosso but former soviet block fighters are normally well schooled and tough.

 

Great fight, I think Anderson takes it though.

 

It will be close in actuality but the scores will be wide because of where it’s being held.

Kossobutskiy must convincingly win on points or even knock out Anderson, Anderson is on home territory and that is a big advantage for him...

I don't think much of either fighter, but this is a legit test for both. If Anderson can walk through Zhan's shots he might overwhelm him with pressure but if Zhan can make his shots count and keep his cool under Anderson's onslaughts he might nip it. It's a case of an aggressive but sloppy younger fighter with sky-high confidence and above average power but awful open defence vs an older, more experienced fighter with solid defence, solid power but not much hand or foot speed and not a huge degree of imagination or urgency. I'll pick the Viking Warrior over Chow Yun Fat as I think Zhan might shell up under Anderson's constant withering workrate and not do enough to win a decision on the cards if it goes there.

 

Zhan knows he will have to go for the KO, so will Anderson

at a neutral location Zhan would be the favourite - but at this stage its gonna be 50:50, maybe slighlty in favor of Anderson

 

After watching more Zhan fights, I'm picking Zhan by KO. I underestimated him previously.

 

I'm not overly impressed by Zhan, think Anderson wins a clear decision.

 

Anderson will be awarded the victory by the judges even if Kossobutskiy is better it will not be enough for him, he has to knock out Anderson...

 

A bigger test for Anderson then was Martin, if he shines in this one he could be ready for a mandatory next.

 

I don't understand why Anderson's team want him loose his zero so early

Maybe they are greedy and are going for the cheapest Top10 WBC-ranked fighter

They should fight Jarrel Miller, its a much easier fight and Miller is more popular in the USA

 

I fully believe Zhan will 12-0 him if he does not KO him. By skills Kossobutskiy might actually be the second best boxer at HW, and he punches harder than the most skilled HW. I was actually amazed by his level of defensive capability.
