Cmon Chrissy. Hurd can easily make the 154 pound division at that size and be effective. Let him be. He'll move up to 160 in no time and well see exactly how good he will be against the guys who are more his size.

Hey man, I rode Canelo's ass to move up, I'm being consistent, this freak makes Canelo look like a Light Welter. He's the definition of a weight bully.

155 was against guys who can compete at 154-60... Except Khan which was a BS fight imo.

Lara is much fitter and more elusive than they are, he couldn't keep this brute off him.

Stylistically I think he is a terrible match up for Billy Joe. I am a fan of Billy but he would get broken down and beaten up. He is just too lazy.

Jacobs is just a chinny guy who will get hurt.

GGG being such a vicious puncher would be the hardest match up, but GGG is very old and deteriating, probably catching him at the right time

But he isn't struggling to make weight. I can't knock him for it.

Lara is tiny compared to them, and he's old, bull****, you're not a a fan of Saunders, and Saunders is more skilled than Lara, and would box Hurd's ears off. give your fanboy gay love a rest for this bum.

Jacobs went the distance with GGG, I think its time the chinny myth about Jacobs that I partially fuelled needs to be put to rest.

Do you think he could beat Murata or Derevyanchenko even? I highly doubt it.

His size would allow him to be competitive, but like I've told @Pimp C earlier we've seen complete fighters get beat by attrition. I wouldn't count Hurd out against either of those guys.

I actually agree with this. He's smarter than Lara, with better footwork and upper body movement, and he's got some nice, sneaky little pro moves that Lara doesn't have.

EDIT: Alas, I forgot Lara's pretty 320-10 amateur record. That changes everything. Lara > Saunders. :sisi1

I think Hurd would match up well against Saunders, but I think GGG would probably systematically break him down. I don't think its outside the realm of possibility for Hurd to somehow pull off an upset.

I would, especially Derevyanchenko, it would look fairly similar to the Johnson match, and I have a hard time seeing him try to walk down a guy that stopped N'Dam, even if it was the shell. They'd both rough him up and stop him mid rounds. Hell Lara stood in the pocket and went to war with him and he couldn't damage Lara as badly as Angulo did, in spite of how that match ended.

Saunders would do to him what Trout and Lara almost did to him, only more decisively, and not take near the damage. The only reason Jacobs and Canelo survived against GGG is because they're defensively blessed, we'll see just how little GGG's power has faded when he gets in there with Spike in May, it won't be pretty, just like Hurd won't be able to take his shots for more than 5 or 6 rounds, the beating even this shell of GGG would put on Hurd is frightening to think about.

Derevchenko has some skills but his pro game is still very limited. I think Hurd has a chance at walking through his shots and breaking D. Down and doing something spectacular. Now I also feel that Derevchenko can shine in that fight, but he'd take some damage to get past Hurd, maybe career threatening damage imo.
