Hurd is bang average , all he has going for him at elite level is a ridiculous size advantage. If Lara was the same age he would have ran rings around him but only lost a close once last night because his legs are completely gone. He had no legs the moment the bell rang. He was even standing toe to toe with this gigantor in the pocket and holding his own.

Both Charlo's chop Hurd down and BJS would give him a one sided pasting.

 

Hurd needs to make his money and establish his legacy and get out of boxing because he takes too much punishment. I think that 160 will shorten his boxing career considerably. He is a prime candidate for brain damage.

Did anyone notice that Lara actually hurt Hurd with that uppercut and that at one point he backed Hurd up. The only thing that saved Hurd was his size but Lara established the threshold for Hurd's punch resistance. Charlo will exceed that and Hurd will crumble under repeated shots by him.

 

Agree with you and I wanted Lara to win..if he can make the weight whilst abiding by the rules then it's to his advantage and fair game! I thought Hurd deserved the nod.

If he can make weight BY A FULL POUND, he is in his division. There have only been three guys that I can think of over the last decade that came in close to what they weighed-in at, during the fight; Mayweather, Rigondeaux, PAquiao. That's it.

Speed is a gift, Lomachenko has it, Power is a gift, Wilder has it, great stamina is a gift, Usyk has it, Hurd's gift is that he he can cut a massive amount of weight and put it back on over night.
