I don't put too much stock in this performance. It was clear that boots didn't even get up for it he had already dominated this guy a few fights ago and this was a rematch no one called for.
It's hardly irrelevant It shows he was talking out his arse and they didn't fancy the Crawford fight That's what it does
He wasn't even highly ranked and not with Hearn who has much more leverage in negotiations. That would be a stupid career move at that stage anyway. But what we do know is Boots was mandatory in 2023, Crawford was called to defend against Boots but he moved up. He moved up for Charlo, but that fight was supposed to happen, that's why Ennis became interim champ in the first place. Crawford still says now that he's not looking in Boots direction, It's not a secret. It's high risk low reward
Oh it's OK to list a bunch of circumstances for Boots but Crawford can't manage his career in a similar manner . Gotcha
You're straw manning. Nobody said anything negative about Crawfords management. He can do what he wants.
You got it backwards, he worked his ass off the try to make a statement and stop karen and it ended up being a close fight. His stock dropped big time. I still think he's a good fighter tho. Perhaps karen is just a bad style matchup for him.
And if Boots had confidence in himself he wouldve paid out to make it happen. Floyd paid out his pocket to rid himself of Arum. Floyd took paycut to make Pacman happen. Same with Canelo. The point is Floyd bet on himself and Boots has not.
Floyd was a champion. He was an atg at that point, (not referring to Arum, and thats completely different) Boots was barely ranked and if you think it would've been a good career decision to fight Crawford when you haven't even beaten a top 10 you're out of your damn mind. Crawford would beat him now, but at least Boots is champ now and has experience against some top 10
Nah I don't see it. It's hard to get up for a fight you don't want in the first place especially since he shut him out the first fight. The rematch was dumb. I put more stock into the first fight than this pointless rematch.
I like his style and he takes chances, but yes he gets hit too much. With Spence and Crawford moving up there aren't exactly a lot of killers there right now though. I would like to see Boots fight Jin Sasaki, Brian Norman or Teofimo.
Boots’ defense is something that’s still noticeably flawed even when he’s dominant. With all the flashy moves that he does to avoid punches he still gets hit more often than necessary. He definitely needs to keep improving on that if he wants to make it far as a top fighter.
All that flashy **** is going to get him knocked out if he ****s around with the wrong boxer. He needs to drop the ego and just ****ing box. He's starting to remind me of Naseem Hamed a few fights before the Barrera fight. All the flash bull**** is for Instagram kids.
