I think Crawford beats him now too, but that would be a very close fight. A chess match. However, Crawford do start slow, and Boot will definitely give him problems early on in the fight.

I do agree he should have stayed at 140. He doesn’t have the skills to make up for the physical shortcomings at welter. I do think he is a world class fighter, and had we not had such a fine stable of welters, he’d be able to make sone noise there.

He’s no can, but he was made to look one tonight.

Not sure actually. I'm pretty sure if he'd have stayed there he'd have been massacred at 140 as well. I like him, he's fun to watch, but I was never under any delusion that he was a genuine threat to anybody in the vicinity of world class.

Ennis, who I am very high on (see some of my comments on the topic), performed as expected against an overmatched opponent. The kid is bigger, longer, faster and hits harder at this weight than Lips.

In short, if Ennis didn't dominate an opponent with such physical limitations, he would not be the guy I think he is.

That said, he's a more complete fighter than Ortiz with a bigger upside.

Meh, I like him. Always puts on a good show, and always comes to fight. Although he got blitzed tonight, he still came to fight. I think guys like Taylor and Ramirez, Prograis, the very best at 140, would have a harder time with him than Ennis did tonight. Just my opinion.

And not to be mean but, Jesus Christ.... I really miss Floyd Mayweather Jr. I mean, goddamn.... Terence Crawford, Errol Spence and Jaron Innis not a one of them have anything close to anything resembling an actual personality. I've never seen three more dull supposed stars. Sometimes I even wonder if they know what sport they're in, there's zero passion, zero excitement, they don't care... which makes the fans not care. As despicable as Adrien Broner is, at least he isn't boring when he's on the microphone, you actively root against him. Those three you almost don't care if they win or lose. I don't necessarily expect every boxer to be showman, but damn.... can't they find some kind of middle ground between that and a walking corpse?

People can say whatever they want about Thurman, Porter and Danny Garcia, but at least they don't put you to sleep while you listen to them

Yeah, but Lipinets has never fought anyone near the top of the 147 heap. The only good guy he fought was Garcia, but Garica is not a 147 lb fighter.

Lipinets has never fought a true top 10 guy at 147. That's why he never got destroyed.

Well that shows that there are levels to this game. And Ennis has shown tonight that he's a threat to the top 10 by beating Lipinets down. But we do need to see more

I see what you mean. I’m just someone that cares more about what they do in the ring

Well, I am too usually. but sometimes I feel like I'm going to forget him while I'm watching him. I've never seen a more boring "exciting" fighter.
