What a gem of a fight this would be. And it needs to happen. Talk about a matchup of 2 of the bright stars to hit the scene at 147 for years to come. A 3 fight trilogy would be great. Ennis wins for me. How bout you?

No chance of this happening but would be amazing if it did. I'd think Ennis wins but would be pulling for Ortiz.

Ortiz is good but he isn't that flashy, dynamic and unpredictable kind of mercurial talent that Ennis is. Solid, workmanlike, pure Mexican style. Still not the best, yet to see great footwork or defensive nous from him.

More impressed with Ortiz so far, Ennis is talented but has beaten lesser opposition. It's only natural when you step up, like Ortiz vs Orozco that it will be more difficult to impress and yet Ortiz has done that.

I love Lee Wylie's stuff and he feels Ennis of the Two is special but I'm on my own with this one, I prefer Ortiz.

Our prospects in America don’t fight each other until at least 8 years later.. Then they’re gonna try to marinate that fight so we might have to wait until Cinco De Mayo weekend 2029

Boots Ennis (one of the most annoying nicknames I've ever heard) has beaten up and stopped Abreu. And maybe heavier handed than Jamal James, who also dropped Abreu, but couldn't stop Dulorme. Which means he's a little heavier handed than Kavaliauskas, who could not KO Ray Robinson, someone Ugas stopped. Ortiz knocked Herrera prone and stopped Brad Solomon for the first and only time in his career, he also stopped Orozco, something Ramirez could not accomplish. He also managed to stop Vargas the same round as Danny Garcia, and unlike Amir Khan, wasn't almost KO'd twice by him. Fine, he didn't stop Vargas as quickly as Spence, but that was the seek and destroy Spence, not the safety first Spence of today, and he was coming off of quarantine. Regardless, we have a ton of evidence that Ortiz can compete at the top level of the division, Ennis is still quite unproven, and we really don't know how he's going to react against a legit puncher, who's KO'd legit competition, with iron chins, like Ortiz has. We've seen how Ortiz deals with slick fighters that are hard to hit clean, we haven't seen how Ennis will deal with effectively aggressive come forward fighters, who are rangy, defensively sound, and accurate punchers with a heat seeking missile of a right hand.... like Ortiz is. My prediction is... Vergil Ortiz beats him within an inch of his life.

Ennis kind of sucks to be honest. People are falling for the terrible opposition he’s clowning on, and really don’t see what there’s been to be impressed by. Did anyone pay attention to the Eyubov fight? I have been much more impressed with Ortiz and Besputin and would pick both to easily stop Ennis.

For someone with an SN "Speedkills" this is an impossibly bad (and weird) take. But yeah sure, if you're looking for a reason not to like a guy because of his ridiculous ring outfits I suppoose you could point to the only fight where he didnt look absolutely sensational. All that said, we aint getting this fight. Not any time soon. This is boxing, not MMA.

Impossibly bad because my opinion is wrong, but yours is right, right? Tell me. Which fight has been a good indicator of Ennis’ skills so far? Eyubov is out, the 5’5 stub was a fluke. So who? Abreu? And have you seen this guy not fresh out of prison/in-shape?

Anyway, some tips. Avoid the ad hominem and don’t bother replying unless your going to argue.
