A fight once touted as the next super fight at welterweight will most likely, IMO, come to fruition next year. Although the fight will be contested at 154 pounds.

This could very well wind up being the 2025 fight of the year. Who are you guys picking?

2025 shaping up to be another great year for boxing.

Few years ago I would have favored Ennis without hesitation but I do think his flaws are becoming more apparent that I think Ortiz can capitalize on. Both guys have looked more vulnerable but I still think this is a 50/50 fight. Either guy can knock each other out. But it's gonna be an explosive match up.

Vergil's team didn't want any part of him at WW but I think they're gambling on the belief Vergil has his physical strength back at JMW

IMO Boots is better on the outside, better on the inside with short shots, has a significant hand and footspeed advantage and while he isn't as a big a hitter, he's still a hitter and I personally think is better in the clinch (not necessarily stronger). Boots does much better against guys that try to impose physicality on him, he's never looked bad in a fight against someone that wants to play rough with him.

    Boots UD12.

Can't imagine boots not wanting a few fights at 154 before taking on Ortiz.

This is a true 50/50, I’d probably just barely lean Vergil though as he’s a smarter fighter

Ortiz Jr. stops Ennis if it happens. Ortiz is a lot more calculated with his attacks and game plans while Ennis just seems to fight off instincts.

Great fight and like Benavidez vs Morrell an extremely intriguing one. As with Crawford vs Madrimov at 154 recently, both looked a lot more beatable and won highly controversial decisions or arguably lost in their previous outings than they ever have before so maybe that's why this is happening now or the chances of it doing so have dramatically increased. Actually, the exact same applies with Benavidez vs Morrell. If one side was previously ducking the other or weren't too keen on the fight before both parties see a route to victory now.

I've always leaned towards Super Boots in this match up and I think I still do. However, I see it as much tougher one to call now.

If this fight ends up becoming official February is gonna be a helluva month. David Benavidez vs David Morrell & Brandon Figueroa vs Stephen Fulton 2 and then Ortiz vs Ennis a few weeks after.
