First of all, your Baby Daddy pulled out the Pulev fight. By your logic, this means he can’t be a “real contender.”

Second, the Ruiz fight will likely happen. However, I strongly doubt the fights with Charr and Joshua are lined up. If you’ve followed the sport prior to 2009, when your Baby Daddy turned pro, you’d know how rare it is for 2 fights to come off in order, much less 3 fights in a row. Prograis vs Ramirez is the latest example of the three-card Monte game that promoters like to play with fighters. Plus I see the following roadblocks to your Baby Daddy’s fight schedule.

    Charr:
    1. Where do you suppose his fight with Big Baby will happen? Charr has fought 35 fights as a professional, none of them in the US, so I hope you don’t think Jarrell will successfully dictate terms on location/venue. I see one more hiccup with this scenario. Big Baby has never left the US for a professional fight. Big Baby vs Charr is a modern day version of RJJ vs Michalczeski, albeit at a MUCH MUCH MUCH LOWER skill level.
    2. Why are you even bragging about the so called King of New York, ruler of the fistic “epi centre,” fighting a guy with the following blemishes on his record?
    • Loss MD 10 vs Duhuapas. The same Duhuapas who went through the motions against your Baby Daddy. Beating Charr represents a step down the ladder. I’m sure you’ll tell me it’s because Charr holds the WBA (regular) title. We all know the REAL (universally recognized) WBA title either lies around Joshua’s waist or draped over his shoulder. Charr’s Regular title is a fistic version of cubic zirconia...worthless. Fast Fres just might take the belt from Charr, rendering a Miller vs Charr fight meaningless. Either way, I doubt your man will travel to Europe for the fight.
    • Loss KO5 vs Mairis Briedis. The same Briedis who fights predominantly in the Cruiserweight division.
I’ll keep my thoughts about Joshua short. Until he loses a fight in the ring or takes a long sabbatical, like Tyson Fury, he is the LINEAL HW champion. Consequently, Joshua will rightfully dictate the most relevant/important terms of a fight with Big Baby. This includes location/venue. Maybe you can convince your Baby Daddy to dust off his passport and accept Joshua’s terms for a fight in he UK.

I don't buy into this avoiding a fight because of 'biased refs/judges' etc.

If you are robbed of a fight, the boxing fans will recognise that, and you will not lose any credibility.

GGG was robbed of a win against Canelo in the viewpoint of 99% of the boxing pundits/media which attended the fight.
GGG's stock grew, and the public demand for a second fight has gone up drastically.

The sad truth is that American fighters don't want the hard work.....

The same hard work non-American fighters have been doing for years.

It's erhaps a problem for US fighters in particular if they're unbeaten as Miller is. That '0' is prized for the marketing potential. Someone's 0 has gotta go and all that. I don't think we're as fixated on unbeaten records over here.

Unbeaten records are valued everywhere. However, it would be nice to see the powers that be (networks, promoters, managers) strive to make the most competitive matches as often as possible. This scenario is a win on multiple levels.

First, the fighters, many of whom have worked hard for years, get a chance to earn their rightful place in the fistic universe. As a one on one sport, they fully understand there’s a possibility that their best may not make them the best, as someone may just prove to be the superior fighter during their time. Either way, elite level fighters shouldn’t waste their prime putting wear and tear on their bodies, in their base gyms, for months at a time instead of getting the exposure and improvement in physical skill that comes from live competition. Not to mention, live competition provides a means to get paid.

Second, as far as the networks/promoters/managers are concerned, it’s in their best interest to schedule the best fights possible. People inherently like to know the order of things. For example, tomorrow will see the coronation of France or Croatia as the best soccer team in the world. If the World Cup operated like boxing, we’d have Brazil and Argentina claiming to be the best soccer team in the world without ever stepping onto the pitch against the likes of France, Germany, or Croatia to settle the score between the white lines. Sadly, these networks/promoters/managers are content with stepping over dollars to pick up cents, all in the pursuit of maintaining “house fighters’” 0’s.

Can you post you a subject w/o always having to try make some BS comparison to others? Two posts so far, two mentions of Aj... give it a rest man.

I do think AJ is having a chilling effect on the division. No-one wants to risk a massive payday down the line.

Yes, but they're particularly valued in the US where they've become something of a fetish. Perhaps Mayweather had something to do with it. WHatever, UK crowds aren't as fixated on following a guy who has never lost.

Otherwise I agree with your sentiment. The reason I don't think it happens is the unique conglomeration of conflicting interests that make up boxing. The fans want competitive fights, the managers and boxers want winnable fights, the promoters want to please both of them. So we get a mixture of gimme's, tick overs, can crushers and the occasional live match up.

The networks should be on the fans side but they often have a lot invested in a fighter and dont want to see their investment downgraded due to a loss etc etc...

Hughie doesn’t take the Pulev fight.

Aside from taking the Parker fight he has a career cherry picking very weak opponents, whilst avoiding a whole series of live opponents.

I haven't seen a single "non-American" put in as much hard work as a Floyd Mayweather. And these "hard working non Americans" can't seem to beat their lazy American counterparts like Andre Ward, Terrence Crawford, etc...

Maybe these non-Americans are just working too hard?

Miller SHOULD take the fight. As should Wilder in the UK. But one has nothing to do with the other. No need to get so defensive. So sensitive some of you are. "Don't disagree with me..... :crybaby2::crybaby2: "
    It's all good though. :beer-toast1:
