Purse bids ordered by the WBA, taking place a week from tomorrow - along with bids for the anticipated Daniel Román vs. Murodjon Akhmadaliev, Beibut Shumenov vs. Arsen Goulamirian, and Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Anthony Crolla world title bouts. This one is set to be for the interim WBA heavyweight title, first defense of Bryan. In the current WBA rankings Bryan is #1 and Miller the number two contender. This pair were originally set to meet in 2016 (in a scuppered eliminator to meet Luis Ortiz), then again on January 18th @ MSG on the Andrade vs. Akavov card on DAZN. In between, they actually were sparring partners for a time last year. Someone's 0 has got to go. Their combined records are 44-0-1 (34), and they both look equally large at 6'4". Bryan has a 1" reach advantage. The likeliest date for this match to land would be the Canelo vs. Jacobs undercard, as Eddie Hearn only has one show in the United States penciled in prior to May 4th - the Farmer vs. Carroll bill in Philly on March 15th. That would be just five weeks after the February 6th purse bids, making it not impossibly but an implausible rushed turnaround. Purse bid minimum will be $600k. Eddie Hearn is widely expected to win, as the barely relevant Don King (with his once mighty but now comparatively paltry coffers) in the other corner.
Miller crushes him inside 3 rounds. They should force Bryan, Oquendo and Charr to take their beating from Miller 3 weekends in a row, get it over and done with by the end of February. Wont be surprised if Miller takes Joshua in the US though instead and Whyte vs Fury happens in the UK.
Bryan went life and death with Rossey IIRC, great he beat down the shittiest CW the US has to offer, whoopty doo, The Cheeseburgermeister rips him to the gut so hard he shits his drawers, slips in it, flies over the top rope, goes through a table, and can't make the twenty ****. Its going to be amazing.
...and with that, Don King will see (I think?) his last "contender" derailed, and will maybe keep his toxic, one-foot-in-the-grave stench away from the sport until both feet line up.
WBA ranking Bryan at #1 ahead of Whyte and Miller must be a lame joke. Nathan Gorman would mess him up.
Won't happen. Satan knows that Arum and King are a threat to his infernal reign and will therefore allow them to live forever here on earth.
For shame! Bryan won his number one world ranking the hard way. Just look.. http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/584916 No wonder the WBA ranks this man as number one. This is the guy that beat, er, hold on, he beat er, well he schooled er, and he battered whatsisname er....
