I am definitely a Hurd fan boy but ffs it pisses me off when he tries to show his "Defensive skills" lol

Shelling up like a turtle is not great defense, sure he doesn't get hit clean often when he does it but he is just asking for trouble doing it.

He has looked terrible at times vs Jojo Dan and now Welborn doing this spastic tactic.

I agree with those who say he can't do that against a big puncher, he can't even do that against Jermell Charlo either (who is not really a big puncher).

Hurd has good natural defensive instincts, riding with punches and countering.
When he tries to go against his instincts and shells up, he is not a threat offensively so even bums can tee off on him. The same guys get annhilated when he puts his punches together.

I don't think Hurd will shell up against Charlo, he actually can't.
When he puts Charlo on the back foot Charlo will not be a threat at all IMO

Hurd will bully Charlo, and I don't want to hear any of this "ohh he's too big bs".
Especially from people claiming Hurd is easy work for Jermell

if welborn had a bit more power he could have won that. Hurd should not be troubled that much by a guy at domestic level

I think this was just a stay busy fight and a fight to work on some stuff.
No way does he fight like that against Charlo.

He wasn't troubled by him, he just fought a poor fight.

Welborn didn't land anything really clean with his furries. He shouldn't have let Welborn tee off though.

I don't think so either, but I do expect him to start slowly he always seems to

And you think Castano couldn't beat that ass. Castano is 50 times the fighter Welborn is in every way, shape and form. But at least you're willing to admit to Hurd having some glaring flaws, so good on you for that.

Hurd would fight differently against Castano, he would have to.

Hurd seems to have a bit of a fighting identity crisis, he fancies himself as a bit of Floyd Mayweather sometimes.
He is built different and needs to come to terms with it lol.

If he sticks to what he's good at he will be fine.
