He is going to fight Povetkin this saturday and I initially wasn't expecting much from Estrada, since the last time I was able to see him he was at 257. Apparently since then he has made quite the transformation and is looking to be in real fighters shape! He must know this is his last time at making a name for himself and thusly trainned like there was no tomorrow! The reason I posted this thread is to wish Estrada luck and I hope his lack of a punch won't hither him too much.
he has worked very hard for this fight he is focused and i really hope he proves everybody wrong i cant wait to read what everyone has to say after he wins im sure it will go a little like this..... he cheated he paid the refs off or povetkin was sick povetkin was hurt or just flat out there was no way he won that fight i had povetkin up 9 rds to 1 blah blah blah and if he does take the L who the hell care most the people on here hated him and never gave him a chance from the start but i will still be by his side and at all his fights waiting for him to get his next big fight thanks for putting up this post not to many people on esb care to hear about jason but if they knew him they would know he was a cool cat and he does work hard and the kid got power he just throws in gaps and does not go in for the kill when he has the person out i have sparred with him many times and he can place a punch anywhere he wants he has the speed and the stamina to go the distance with any of the top heavys right now best of luck jay
I glad Estrada has finally got into fighting shape.I said when this fight was announced that Estrada would give Povetkin problems if he was in shape, and i'll stand by that now. Before, I considered Estrada a poor man's Eddie Chambers but now that he's lost the weight he could really give Povetkin a hard time. After all Chambers was giving him fits but a lack of stamina caused his downfall.
Both are 2004 Olympians... Both are young... With that said, this won't be Estrada's last chance... He's still young enough and talented enough to stay in the mix as far as American heavies are concerned.... Estrada is like a bigger Eddie Chambers with a better amateur background.. Don't think he's as fast as Eddie but he's fast enough and skilled enough to be a problem for Povetkin...
All Estrada fans who want to know how they'll get to watch him live this Saturday should go to this thread: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131412
A pity that he couldnt shut up after his extremely lame fight at the olympics a couple of years ago.In the eyes of many American fight fans he dishounered his own country and the flag he had vowed to honour with that stupid interview and his lack of discpline! I very much hope that he will try to make the water hot for Povetkin and not quit after 3-4 rounds!
