I got my nick name "Divac" back in my younger days playing basketball in hood playgrounds of South Central Los Angeles.
Since I sported a Vlade Divac style beard, the guys started calling me Divac. :D
I had a finesse game more like Kareem though, with a patented fluid skyhook to go with it. :yep
Those were the ****ing days!! :D

I used to play ball back in the days, I played for the All-stars 3 times and played city ball for a few years in Perris as a small foward when I was like 14...I was mainly known for my 3 point shot, **** I miss those days too.....

But I figured you were a laker fan with the user name of divac which is why I called you Vlade a few times!:good

    You a fan of chicanito?

Where do you Rank Genaro as a 130 pounder?

    "Manitas de Piedra!" :D

What a fight between him and Chiquita.
Rooted for Chiquita but I knew there was a vulnerable side to him not having the best punch resistance.

Credit to Chiquita in the rematch that he knew he couldn't trade with Carbajal or he'd meet the same fate. Boxed circles around Carbajal when most thought he could only fight going forward.
    Enjoyed all those years bro.

    Genaro was an excellent champ.
I dont rank him with the greats at 130 lbs.
I think most of the greats at 130 lbs beat Genaro, his hands were to brittle, but he'd give most a good fight even in defeat.

Genaro grew up in South Central not far from where I grew up, my last avatar in this forum before the forum banned them was of Chicanito, a tribute to him when he passed, so theres a special place in my heart for him, may he RIP.

Great post:good.... you're one of the guys I respect on here, but I'll debate you on anything boxing related I disagree with you on... This however is something I agree with you on... Gonzalez vs Carbajal is one of the best fights in the lower weight classes in the history of the sport and GREAT WESTERN FORUM history no doubt!

:D Good to see that even in a thread where we disagree in, we can put our differences aside and just appreciate what we have in common.
I'm off to sleep, have a good night my friend! :good
