Fortuna is good but you guys are overrating him. Mickey Roman gave Fortuna a tough fight not that long ago. I agree with the people saying to allow him to develop some more and we'll see how special he really is.
He has good speed and some physical talent, but he's way too wild to be taken seriously at this point. Beating up on some worn-out has been who never really was is not impressive. I'll give him credit when he gains some skills and/or beats better competition. Don't fall in love with prospects because of the so-called power that they have. That stuff tends to disappear once a lot of these guys step up in competition.
hahaha, jesus christ. No one is saying this kid is the next Floyd or Manny. yall need to calm the **** down. What is wrong with boxing fans getting excited over a promising looking prospect? you get all negative and act like you see things we dont? you have the nerve to criticize his resume and level of competition? are you ****in serious? Hes a young fighter and he definitely isnt taking the EZ route like Chavez Jr. or Canelo or Broner. Hes getting in there and fighting his ass off on ESPN, not HBO. And the Kid was only wild cuz he saw that cruz offered nothing to be wary of and went in for the kill. If he didnt go in there and CRUSH cruz everyone would be saying he couldnt get an old vet out of there. But he did and not "oh well cruz is old". yeah no **** hes old. thats how young fighters are supposed to develope. you put him in there with some bums, then some other prospects, then against some old vets. THEN you put him in with the bigger names. but he cant land a fight against the bigger names until he builds his value, and KNOCKING PEOPLE THE **** OUT ON NATIONAL TV is exactly how to do it!!! boxing fans are so ****in cynical...
I judge fighters based on their actual skill level and not the hype that some of you guys are having orgasms over. Showing punching power against bums and knocking them out doesn't mean anything. Fighters don't develop by fighting people that are too old and slow to fight back. They develop by training and facing quality opposition that can test them in some way. They can learn and gain experience from doing things like that. What do you gain by fighting defenseless old guys? I understand them fighting people like this early in their careers, but you can't act like it means anything.
