A problem a lot of guys have is to be a mandatory position you have to accept being a significant B-side in a 75/25 split.

Since Kell Brook's been champion, Bundu, Khan, Bradley, Porter, Sadam Ali and Devon Alexander has all pulled out of the chance to fight in a final eliminator believing they can get more money elsewhere, or in the case of Khan & Bradley have been offered more for voluntaries.

Next in lines in Chaves who he's fighting in a voluntary, is a final eliminator between Kevin Bizier and Fredrick Lawson, so 25% against Brook is probably a big payday for them.

    Round 6

Velásquez is stomping after Fortuna but not braving the moat, waiting and posing. Fortuna is buzzing around kneading the body with light cat's-paws, and catching Velásquez unawares on the pass-by with left uppercuts on the still-bloody nose. Velásquez is taking his time, watching for an opening to counter, but missing what few chances there are, missing jabs and giving Fortuna opportunities to duck and sidle out and flurry at him from a new angle.

    10-9 Fortuna

    60-53 Fortuna

Yeah, but it's improved in the past couple of fights. Vasquez is pretty accurate and he was having trouble landing more than one punch at a time. And Velasquez can't really land much of anything thus far.

For a fighter like Fortuna, who attacks so awkwardly and appears to be so off balance most of the time, he hasn't really shipped a lot of sustained abuse in the last few fights.

    Round 7

Velásquez is getting through with an occasional right hand on the body, mostly just crabbing in, sliding his shoes along the canvas with his upper half turned rightward, putting out long jabs into the air. Fortuna is springing traps on him, landing quick left hands from outside and then receding.

    10-9 Fortuna

    70-62 Fortuna

I don't think I understand what you mean. Isn't being a mandatory far better financially than being a voluntary? Isn't that why Beterbiev is trying to get a mando position vs Kovalev when he can just fight him?

    Round 8

Velásquez is pulling away from the left hand of Fortuna now, lessening its impact or avoiding it altogether. Fortuna is still busier, flitting around the outside and letting his hands go much more than Velásquez. Fortuna is doing lots of jerky in and out dashing, and clinching, stalling whenever Velásquez tries mounting an offense.

    10-9 Fortuna

    80-71 Fortuna

Um, no he wasn't. Fortuna vs. Hyland was absolutely terrible. So was Fortuna vs. Franco...in fact, what the hell are you even talking about? When he kayoed Cotto's cousin? When has he ever been in a single entertaining match?

Depends on who you are. If you're a nobody then yes.

As a mando you get 25% come what may, so for Jo Jo Dan, that was probably more than he would've got offered against Kell Brook for a voluntary.

As a voluntary you get whatever the champ is prepared to offer, so for, say Amir Khan against Kell Brook 25% is ludicrous when Brook has already offered 60% for a voluntary.

Bare in mind to, in a final eliminator you get 50-50, so when Bradley said he'd have to fight Frankie Gavin in a 50-50 split in an eliminator followed by Brook in a 75/25 in Brook's favor, you can see why he took the 1.5m to fight Vargas instead for the WBO, and Brook and he are looking at a split probably in Bradley's favor in a unification next year.

His match against Juan Antonio Rodriguez wasn't too hot either although he was pretty bloody which was only reason worth watching it.

I don't think that's correct, mate. I'll look it up after the fight. You might get "at least" 25% but I'm pretty sure you don't "have to" get 25% as a mando. For instance I know for a fact that Wilder had made more money than Stiverne for that fight and Stiverne was the champ.
