Anyone ever have a popping sensation in their ear after a spar? I got hit with a big shot around the ear area and I heard a little popping sound, that might have been something in that side of my head(around jaw/inner ear area). As after that session when biting down I felt pressure in my ear around that area. As time went on it went away, but still now and then it seems to almost click in and out of place but does it less as time progresses.... It's still a tad painful but not as frequent and not as painful. Anyone else ever have anything like that?
I've never really had anything like that, But you should probably go to the doctor, its probably nothing but just to make sure. To be honest I my self probably wouldn't go and I know every one hates going to the doctors but it probably is the best thing especially if your a boxer mate.
Yeah, I get the odd click. It gets more pronounced after taking a good shot to the jaw then it goes away after a few days. I don't think mine is serious enough to warrant a doctor's visit, but definitely some good advice if it becomes more prominent.
I took a right hook to the jaw last weekend during sparring. Guy was southpaw, came with the lead hook around my extended lead hand... got me right in the jaw, turned my head and everything... I never saw it coming. It was stiff for about 3 days... but that is the worst jaw pains I've had... I was thinking myself if it didn't start to loosen up and let me bite down properly, I was going to be going to the doctor. For real though, you can't tell if it is your ear for sure... or your jaw?
It's definitely related to the jaw, I just think the ear thing is the jaw pressing on it. I think it might move slightly out of place from time to time as it only does this every once in a while and has done so less frequently after the incident.
Things like this usually happen when you fight with your mouth open lol try to avoid that! But the pain will subside eventually. If it was broken, oh boy would you know! Maybe ice it? Otherwise just relax and try not to stress yourself over it.
Jaw shots definitely hurt the most. I was sparring a heavyweight (I'm probably around light middleweight) and he hit me on the right side of my jaw but I could feel it on my left. Thought it was dislocated, could feel it for a few days after.
I refuse to spar with people that much bigger/heavier than me, and that's why. not much point outside of a defensive drill and id say about 75% of them cant spar with any control
