Jay Larkin, who was the boss of Showtime boxing before leaving the network in November 2005, has died aged 59 after and eight year battle against brain cancer. He presided over Tyson - Holyfield I and II - both of which generated around $100 million, and Lewis - Tyson (a co-production with HBO) and big fights involving Frank Bruno, Naz, Trinidad, Calzaghe and more. He was a great Anglophile, with a love of theatre, shows and music.
A really fine bloke, who leaves two teenaged sons and a lovely wife, Lisa. He died too young and leaves so many great memories for those who worked with him and dealt with him, either professionally or socially. RIP
