Why don't you actually read the bible instead of picking random quotes. The Old Testament in terms of the law, applies to those who agreed to live by it 2000+ years ago. It's how things were, not how they should be. You need the Old Testement as it explains how things were when Jesus came into the world and why he came. Jesus says 100s of times that things in the old testement (slavery, ****, not eating pork, stoning women) are wrong. Without the Old Testement the New Testement would be a bit like watchkng the last 30minutes of a film and things wouldn't make sense. At least this is how I have always been taught. Like I said try reading the actual book and you may understand.

I could take any newspaper article, film, tv show, book and find one paragraph and make it seem negative. If you read the entire Bible with an open mind and still think the books overiding message of Love is BS fair enough. But I wouldn't give an opinon on a boxing match of I had only seen the 5th round.

Telling them don't be drunks, don't cheat, don't habe a male lover, don't idolise money etc. All perfectly logical advice for a married man and not homophobic. You will find happiness in loving your wife and not being selfish. Does the New Testement say anything about being Gay as Ok/Good....no. But it says plenty about treating all people equally, not judging others, all are born equal....but I guess you don't find those parts on badbiblequotes.com

Jesus said theres 2 key laws to live bye. Love God and Love your neighbour. Everything else is just a guidline. I apprecate many people don't teach, preach and act this way, but thats what Jesus said and I take that on board rather than some Priest or crazy guy on the street with a microphone telling people there going to hell.

You're trying to pretend the context alters the passage when it doesn't.

He went to church for the first time at 17 and hadn't got himself into any bother before that,
so religion has not stopped him from getting into **** , it has helped him with his focus , self belief and faith in mankind which we all have to admit is sometimes hard to maintain .

 

Again, if you went to church, read the bible you would understand the concept of forgivness. A key principal teaching of Christiany.
