Nice to see that he was back in action on Saturday. He's a talented lad and it shouldn't be long before he's in for the British title again. :good
Agreed. Lets not forget he only very narrowly lost to KG. Deserves support. Another one like that is middleweight Nick Blackwell. These guys are only half a step behind the best lads and given the breaks might still achieve something in the sport.
yep a bit more in the tank and a bit cleverer boxing and he would have won, good example of a loss that should have good learnings and potentially better the fighter.
Agreed. Definitely think that loss will only make him a better fighter and I hope I'm right. I do think if there's any up and comer that deserves to get something out of this sport right now, it's him. He didn't exactly have it easy as a young lad, lives and breathes boxing, is very dedicated and it's boxing that's stopped him ending up down a road to nowhere. Also, if you were to meet him he's the nicest lad about. Last seen him on the Hatton/Senchenko bill. He made Galahad look very ordinary at times, especially with all the hype that surrounds him and was unlucky to come up short in that fight.
Kid Galahad speaking well of Dickens: http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/boxing/sheffield-boxing-ace-wants-to-upstage-naz-1-6506539
He should speak well of dickens he'd look stupid if he said anything else he was at best level before the k.o
Only saw mcdonnell once against wood and wasn't impressed wasnt in the fight till he landed the right hand in the 5th and wood had gased out . Fair play to him for digging in tho. Whale is a tough lad lots of experince just feel dickens wud outbox both lads. Aslong as his learned from his loss to kid over the 12 round distance which imo if he hadn't hav gased out he wud of won
Nick blackwell is good, very game, fought an experienced martin murray with 6 or 7 fights, gave bjs a hard battle. Not a man afraid to take a hard fight, i bet agogo's team aint rushing to battle him, . mind i dont think many others will be either, at least not without proper compensation.:good
its disappointing how little attention Blackwell gets. McEwan - an absolute palooka of a middleweight has a current 7-page thread dedicated to him on here - yet a genuine tryer like Nick gets overlooked. Baffling.
Blackwell is one of those fighters respected inside the game but with no backing without selling tickets and good promotion you have no chance.
