Has there been any official statements in regards to the potential of this mega fight? It would surely sell out soccer arenas in Mexico...100k + without a doubt. This fight NEEDS to happen for boxing. I know these guys aren't necessarily legends/HOF material, but it would make for an epic fight and it would go down in Mexican boxing history/lore for good. Well, Top Rank are currently involved in a lawsuit with Chavez regarding his contract - Jr thinks he's a free agent and TR say they have him locked down until 2016. On top of that, TR are only offering him a fight if he agrees to (at least) a one fight extension, which Chavez isn't considering. Basically, don't hold your breath on seeing Jr fight anyone in the foreseeable future. When he does come back, he'll probable be at Light-Heavyweight.
We know GGG is the man to beat at 160 but money runs this game and we cannot deny that Chavez/Canelo would be brutally fantastic for boxing. These guys would butcher each other.
