JC doesn't need Warren to secure his last few fights.

I'm no fan of JC but I don't think he's ducking Pavlik at all.

Roy Jones is a much bigger payday for JC, take it if you can get it.

Pavlik will still be there plenty of time for them to fight.

I am a lil dissapointed with JC, I started to admire him as a fighter since last year, but its really obvious that he doesnt want any part of pavlik

    :good
free agent to make his own tv deals.

with hatton v mayweather getting £18 million uk from sky ppv money that is a huge incentive to get rid of warren who has ****ed nearly every tv station with nothing fights that they dont really want to work with him.

It be allot more money for Joe with the Jones fight ..That fight will most likely have over 70 thousand people minimum ..

Its a no brainer ..Joe just cut out his middle man ..

exactly right, its always fasinating how people on ESB forget that, as we discussed it right here 6-8 months ago when joe said he fight pavlik, but then pavlik didn't want to know

What are you talking about, "Pavlik didn't want to know?" He has said from the get go that he would love to fight slappy joe.

****i'n "ducking" is the most abused word in this forum.

Give JC a break the guy is old and on the way to retirement . . . and the fact is he is now #2 P4P. Fighting Jones is for money and not a sure win for him so you people lighen up.

The only problem I got with Calzaghe is the fact that he mentioned Kelly Pavlik right after his fight with Kessler as the one he truly wanted to meet ! Then he continued that way after the Hopkins fight...although he was then adding RJJ to the potential limited list !

Only 6 months ago, it was clear that he wanted Pavlik. Pavlik was his 1st choice, but I sincerely believe that his father might have convinced him to skip that unnecessary path since he only wants to fight 1 more time !!

Why risk everything now ? That's their logic !

But guess what.....RJJ is no novice and if given one last chance, even at 39, he just might have 1 last outstanding performance left in him !!

    It remains to be seen....

When and where did Calzaghe say Pavlik was his first choice ? Before or after the Hopkins fight ???

Again as I said before Jones and Pavlik were mentioned as the frontrunners ..Before those fights it was Taylor and Hopkins ..Never did I ever hear that Pavlik was the number 1 consideration ..Only from Arum did I hear that ..

So if the numbers are so much better for the Jones fight in Wales then a Pavlik fight in the US why was Warren trying to make the PAvlik fight? Surely he would have been try to go where the greater money and lower risk was.

Sorry bro...but Calzaghe was mentioning Kelly Pavlik many times in interviews after Kessler and before Hopkins !!

As a matter of fact, he started mentioning Pavlik right after Kelly beat Taylor the 1st fight !!

Pavlik only became an option to him after the Hopkins fight as he then said on HBO it should be RJJ to face him !!

Ya okay so he cut out the middle man. Good for him. But what does that have to do with fighting RJJ instead of Kelly? What does he need a middle man to fight pavlik? Nope. Ducker!

I rememebr exactly what Joe said after Kelly beat Taylor the first go around .He congrdulated him and said he we love to fight him some day ..But how serious could that fight have been when Taylor had the rematch clause and Joe had Kessler on the radar ?

Pavlik was a late addition to his plans ..If anything it would be more of a favor but he's earned the right .

After his fight with Kessler the only thing on Joe's mind was Hopkins ..Not until Kelly beat Talor a 2nd time did he become a stong consideration ..But thats it he is not obligated to fight the middle weight champ better yet the newly crowned middle weight champ when he is currently at lt heavy .It be an interesting fight but if he turned his attenition elsewhere so be it ..Kelly needs to make a name for himself at middle before he's demanding big fights ..And right now his focus should be King Athrur !

Pavlik has a his legacy whats Kelly's Miranda and Talor so far ? Come on already !

i have said before and i will say again
i prefer pavlik v calzaghe as a fight as my first choice.

as to warren making a pavlik fight , as far as i am aware warren has never talked to pavlik or his trainer or manager.
talked small talk with arum when over in america, but since warren is no longer calzaghe`s promoter in hindsight even that means nothing.

as to my hypothetical uk numbers at uk prime time , they are assumptions and guesses on my part.

i do beleive though that a prime time calzaghe v jones in the uk makes more money than a prime time american pavlik v calzaghe bill by a long way.

It's ok to think Calzaghe has the right to fight who he wants for his last fight but please don't disrespect what Pavlik has done up to now...

Lacy is another Miranda while Taylor already beat Hopkins and Kessler is not better than Taylor..sorry !

And last but most importantly....are we all forgetting that Calzaghe clearly mentioned on numerous occasions up until at least mid 2007, that RJJ was washed up and he didn't see any reasons to fight a finished fighter like him !!!

If we're all honest here...we'll admit that....
