Have recently became interested in Julio Cesar Chavez and was wondering how good were the 3 divisions he dominated? great, good or poor? Also any notable fighters he avoided?
I think he pretty much faced everyone he could have. The whitaker fight was a long time coming and Don was really good about knowing which guys to avoid, but I think Chavez with his fighting style had an excellent career against excellent opposition. He dismantled some really slick guys with exception of Whitaker.
He fought the best available & avoided no one. He was challenging Camacho constantly before Camacho finally agreed to fight him.
