Are you kidding? Gomez got legitimately knocked down by Cotto's jab. He wasn't off balance like Clottey. Not to mention, Gomez fights at 147, not 154. Gomez is getting steamrolled by someone who's seemingly barely a B level fighter.
Oh dont get me wrong I'm not saying Gomez is going to win. IMO JCC Jr is going to win, all I'm saying is I wouldnt be surprised if Gomez wins not because that says a lot about Gomez but because JCC Jr is so crappy.
JCC jr isn't half as good as his record indicates (42 have tried, 42 have failed ), but he's better than Gomez... jr by UD
I think regardless of outcome, Chavez Jr is in for a rough night. Even though the size advantage is large, Gomez has better boxing skills than Jr and has the better hand/foot speed. He also has the decided edge in quality experience and will not fold when the going gets tough. Plus, Gomez fairly easily outboxed Jesus Soto-Karass(where he was similarly outsized and not favored), and JSK just got robbed in his fight against hot prospect Mike Jones. I'm rooting for Gomez and think he'll win by UD, but even in a loss, it would shock me if the fight isn't pretty competitive.
