If he's willing, he may be able to fight Golovkin instead. He'd probably fight for less than Stevens was offered(and turned down) and he'll probably be more competitive than anyone else available.

I have noticed too many injuries in boxing lately. Steroids can cause injuries, but who knows. I am just disappointed.............

Not when your boy Shitali uses them... They only heal injuries in that case. :yep

He ducked Ronald Hearns in his scheduled 1st title defense (bear in mind, this is after obtaining it with a wretched performance against Zbik in which he got very lucky on the cards...) with claims that he skinned his knuckle on his gym's ceiling fan while stretching and that it wouldn't be healed in time. :blood

A day before that claim was made - supposedly two weeks after the "injury" - he sparred with Antonio Margarito. :think

Not a Chavez jr fan in the slightest, but why the hell would people believe he was ducking Hearns? Chavez would beat Hearns. That excuse does sound like sh.it i know, but i don't remember Hearns even being that highly rated by the WBC. So it's not like he was anything near mando which would have suggested a duck.

Also what are the odds on this latest delay being due to Fatty jr not being on target with his weight loss.

Hearns was top 10 in the WBC - at junior middle. :yep

I was kidding about the duck, but it did seem a bull**** cover story - probably to mask weight-making issues.

Even as bad as he looked against Zbik, I doubt Chavez or anyone in his camp worried he might lose to Hearns (considering Ronald had by then already been knocked out by Harry Joe Yorgey and Felix Sturm)

...but hey. You never know. Maybe he didn't want to risk tarnishing his family name and becoming the butt of a running "Hearns is greater than Chavez!" joke. :!:
