I was wondering when Cotto-Chavez talks would start up. This fight makes a lot of sense and even though I have little interest in watching either Cotto or Foreman dominate Chavez I don't have a problem with it.

Cotto has earned the right to fight anyone he chooses. Cotto has fought one tough guy after another for years and if he wants to make his first defense of his 154 pound title(if he gets by Foreman) against Chavez then he should go for it. He's earned it and I have little doubt after he brutalizes Chavez he would be right back in defending against someone like Mosley, Pacquaio, Angulo, etc.

Foreman is defending his title against Cotto so its not like he is taking a bum of the month tour with his belt. If he beats Cotto than a fight with Chavez would probably be one of his smartest opition. Foreman isn't a draw and Chavez is so, financially, it would be one of his best moves. He makes a nice payday and keeps his belt here.

Chavez isn't a very good fighter and seems to take the whole training thing too lightly. Arum knows he needs to cash in on Chavez while he still can. Sure, he can keep beating up limited guys on small ppvs for decent money but if he doesn't have the desire, which I wonder if he does, than that coupled with his limited ability means he's going to get knocked off by one of those guys that are brought in to lose to him. An overweight Chavez losing to these guys isn't going to keep his cult like status. And that is if he even gets by Duddy.

You honestly think Cotto would lose against Chavez, Jr.? Chavez, Jr. would get destroyed by Cotto OR Foreman. He is not ready to take on such big names and I don't think he will ever be ready.

I got duddy in this one also. He'd been in the ring w/ much better competion and this si kinda a crossroads for duddy should give him a good sense of ergency.

I suspect he could still fight there, but Arum wants him up in Middle for this decent sized fight with Duddy. After that, going back to LightMiddle would make more sense cause he's a small enough middle.

alot of you are in for a rude awakening when Chavez Jr. succeeds. He will beat Duddy and then beat either Cotto or Foreman. I have faith in him.

Well, at least he's finally stepping the competition up.

If he gets past Duddy and can make 154 (I'm not convinced he can do either) then Cotto or Foreman should nail him to the canvas.

Maybe he'll surprise us all though.
