Duran vs Chavez = Greatness

 

Leonard stopped one of the best defensive fighters of all time in Benitez, he is also bigger, more powerful, and much better suited to 147. I chose Leonard because of his speed and very underrated power. He would be landing often, and I mean often, on the smaller man who's not suited to fighting at 147. Leonard was one of the best finishers I've seen. I stick by what I wrote, easily.

He beat Arguello and Cervantes, both convincingly and impressively. And I've explained my opinion of JCC, I far from hate him, I actually like him, but I know how to analyze matchups instead of just being a blindly loyal fan. I analyze matchups by looking at styles of fighters, and watching them cope with different styles. I could argue that who did Meldrick Taylor beat before facing Chavez other than McGirt? Did it matter? He still put on an excellent performance and was winning prior to the controversial stoppage.

I base what I wrote on what I have seen of both, not wins resume.

Pryor also had a great chin, and as I explained in the above post, style-wise he'd have the advantage over Chavez. Try reading the post first, and after you do that, try to dispute its points.

 

Dude I am not a blind loyal fan. I base my opinions on his skills. Just like you do. I think his chin, guts, and heart were greater than any of the fighters you are listing. Just the same way you are talking about their skills, I am talking about his. When two great fighters go at it prime for prime, the stronger fighter wins, albeit being physical or mental. Chavez was a ****ing rock. Just look what he did to Taylor man.

I am a Chavez hater because I have him losing to Duran and Pryor, arguably the two best at 135 and 140 to ever fight? Yeah that makes sense. I gave a detailed analysis in both matches, and even gave Chavez a decent chance against Pryor, probably moreso in a 15 rounder.

Chavez would break Hatton. But I guess with ignorant children like yourself I'll never get through.

He had great heart and chin, just as they did, they simply have the style to beat him. Therefore, what does he have that would give him the edge?

 

MORE HEART. Whoever was on that night would win the fight. Unless you think he has no chance at all. Face it you hate Chavez and that's kool. Do you hate other Mexican boxers or do you just focus your hate on JCC?

How the hell does he have more heart? Where do you come up with that? He never moved up in weights to fight bigger greats like Duran did. When did Pryor show a lack of heart? They all had great heart. The difference is, the other two have the styles edge, therefore they are obviously favored.

Over 15 rounds, if Chavez's gameplan is to go all body from the start, he could wear Pryor down enough to take some late rounds, and possibly win a very close decision, but over 12 I favor Pryor, and probably over 15 as well, just saying that would be Chavez's chance.

Against Duran, he would have no chance unless Duran came in un-motivated for a non-title fight and got surprised like he did in the first meeting with Dejesus. He is just a better fighter than Chavez when on his game, better at everything.

And no, as I said, I don't hate Chavez, I can actually give analysis on fights instead of nuthugging fighters though, unlike yourself.

 

bro i like jcc too, and sweet pea has shown no hate for chavez in this thread. his posts have been concise and well thought out arguments as to why duran would beat jcc. does'nt mean you hate a boxer when you think some one wins against him. the "more heart wins fight" discussion needs to stop too, both had great heart and great skills. duran fought a top 3 middle weight toe to toe, if you want an example of his heart and balls. it could be argued that gatti had more heart than his opponents, but he lost out in some of his fights too.

 

Why not Pryor? His style is right to beat JCC, and he has never shown a lack of heart, so why not Pryor?
