Yeah, but he didn't take a straight right hand from Tommy Hearns at 154. Big difference. You can't knock Duran for getting KO cold by Hearns who probably has the best p4p right hand in boxing history. And if I remember correctly that was the first time Duran had been down. Anyway, I like Duran 8-4 or 116-112 in this fight. He simply does everything JCC can do, except just a little bit better.
No it wasn't. He was down first in his first loss to DeJesus, and again in the rematch that he won. And I agree that Duran took a right hand from one of the most prolific puncher in boxing. There's no shame in that. Chavez taking one would have him end up face first on the mat.
Chavez would have been koed like Duran was if he ever faced Hearns. Please don't tell me you think Chavez would beat Hearns?atsch
A poster on here said that he was never rocked. Take away the Wiley fight if you want, but he was undefeated going into the Randall fight and only slightly past his prime when he lost twice to DLH. The knockout loss to Tyzsu isn't as easy to dismiss as Wiley. How are you supposed to prove that Chavez had a better chin? Duran also had a great chin. He battled twelve rounds with Barkley and won. I think he was 37 then. Barkley may not be the greatest technical fighter but he was very rugged, strong and hit hard for a middle weight. Chavez-Duran would've been a war. I like Duran on a close points win.
Absolutely correct.............If ya wanna take it there? How would Chavez fare against Leonard at 147....Didn't think so How would Chavez fare against Hitman at 154...:scaredas:
How many fights had Chavez fought before getting KD? How many years and fights had Chavez had when he fought Wiley and Tszyu? Be reasonable.atsch
Hearns was over-rated too. He hurt Sugar Ray once or twice in all their fights. Chavez was coked out by the time he fought over 140.
