I had it 7 rounds to 3 for Vera. Terrible decision. Chavez Jr's stock goes way down after this fight. Andre Ward would destroy him at 168, and Stevenson, Kovalev, and Hopkins would school him at 175.

 

And still needed the judges help to "win".

Lol, Chavez had the nerve to say he would have knocked Vera out if it went on a bit longer. He's having flashbacks of the Martinez fight.

 

1-2 good punches per round shouldn't win a round. Vera dominated at least2/3 of the round were Chavez had his best punches.

 

the winner should of won by 1 point. either way would of been fine or a draw

I had Chavez Jr winning 6 rds, but either guy coulda took that fight 6-4, even 7-3.

8-2 otoh........:roflalmost as bad the Glaskov Scott draw or the woman who scored Mayweather Canelo a draw.

Im a Chavev fan, and I agree that his shots were the deciding blows, and I agreed with Julio that Dr Moret was completely ignorant to Veras tactics.

It was agravating me that everytime Julio would get inside to attack the body, he was fouled by either a butt on the brow or a shot on the bladder.

Not faulting Vera.....he aint watching his shots land, but he's gonna remember that distance that causes Julio to let off on the inside game. And the butts....I mean Veras the shorter guy, so the top of his head is bumping constantly on the brow of Chavez. If Moret is gonna allow it, Julio has to step back and hook to the body rather than his normal leaning and combo punching to it.

If Julios gonna remain a top dawg in this sport, he's gonna have to remember that relentless leaning body attack that got him there.

This one shot at a time BS and setting back waiting to counter aint gonna work, not even against smaller SMWs like Abe and Steiglitz.:-(

P.s. the vicious body attack is a myth. He needed a robbery to even get the title against Zbik. Another fight where he was clearly outhustled
