**** dude, your right! The magnitude of the event, I mean people are impressed with the staples being sold out, but estadio azteca, simply amazing. Gotta get that DVD, I'm sure it'll bring back alot of memories.
No doubt about JCC schooling today's LW's. Marquez is a great, but Chavez's size and accurate power punching would put him on his back. Guzman gets too much credit for having a slickster style; he's not that good at lightweight. Chavez would cut the ring off all night and put that sucker to sleep, easy.
Pretty much. imho he's the greatest lightweight ever, but you could find people that would argue that point I'm sure. I love JMM, but I think JCC would KTFO him. Just punches too hard, too accurate, too everything. MAB and EM were really best at junior FW and FW imho, and would get KTFO by JCC as well. JCC was not only better, he was significantly bigger than today's greats. Chavez had a weird kind of power. He hit people and it was like they just got a heavy electric shock or something, they STAYED hit and stayed hurt. He really hurt people badly without necessarily knocking them thru the ropes. You'd have to watch his fights to see what I mean. It's hard to describe. Chavez beating up Rosario is one of the most technically proficient and yet most brutal performances I've ever seen. Maybe THE best combination of skills and power I can think of all on display in one fight.
Chavez would beat the absolute **** out of every lightweight day. Heck I think even Edwin Rosario and Freddie Pendleton would beat the **** out of every lightweight today, we don't even have to talk about all time greats.
Rosario would be a good competitive matchup with JMM, but I would take JMM over either one. I do put JMM, MAB and EM in the ATG class in their respective weight classes, I just think JCC is a super-elite ATG, like an SRR, Ali or SRL.
A prime Rosario would beat JMM IMO. Edwin was superb at his best and lets face it as good as Juan is, he isnt at best weight here which is Edwin's home.
I agree completely. JCC is a remarkable talent and one of my favourite fighters ever. To just look at him briefly you see a come forward, unrelenting pressure fighter/brawler and i can see why some people say fighters like Juan Diaz, Margarito and other come forward fighters remind them of JCC, however, it is when you look at JCC with a keener eye that you realise the true greatness of the man. Like many come forward fighters you generally have to have good physical cababilities and JCC did have this. He had an amazing engine, a granite chin and good, solid punching power and his mix of these three is probably better than any other LW ever. However, for me, what sets JCC apart from many other pressure fighters is that he didn't just rely upon these great physical attributes, say like Margo does with his chin or Diaz does with his great stanima. Not only was JCC a beast of a fighter he also had a tremendous boxing brain. Like i said earlier, its easy to just look at him and say 'he is just a come forward brawler', but if you look at him closer you will see so much more. His ability to cut the ring of is second to none (well maybe second to Duran at LW, but its debateable), his punching accuracy and choice of shots were top class and he had great defensive skills aswell. For me his defensive skills is one of the main reasons he really is as good as he was. Many people go on about what an offensive machine he was but his ability to block, parry and slip punchers and rarely get hit flush was amazing and made even more amazing when you consider that he was nearly always in punching range because he rarely took a backwards step. If JCC was around today in his prime he would clean up 135 and 140. JMM would give him problems as he is a great fighter but he is just not great enough to beat JCC. Plus, Marquez's mindset would be his downfall. He is a great technician and this would give JCC a few problems but Marquez has shown more and more lately a willingness to trade and if he trades with JCC he will get KO'ed. A true slickster with quick hands and even quicker feet so as to get out quickly from the many tight spots JCC will put you in is probably the best way to beat him and no one like that exists at 135 these days. Anyway guys, sorry for rambling on but i ****ing love JCC.
I think Chavez would do very well with the lightweights now and the 140 pound guys. Chavez was such a great fighter and he was always in position to land punches. Against JMM I think he would win and get a stoppage in the late rounds.
I think Maywhether Jr would beat him.. Whittaker made him look like an absolute ****ing moron and was robbed. I think he beats most lightweights today and JW, Tszyu I think could have beat him (as he did)
Yeah that's why I said Tzsyu would have beaten him.. i meant prime.. otherwise there was no reason in stating that Tzsyu beat him. We all know what Tzsyu fought. Don't call me dumb ass when you bring nothing to threads other than no knowledge and Pac nutthuggery. Your how many thousand posts don't reflect how stupid you are when it comes to boxing. Go play Habbo hotel with all the other little kids and ******s such as yourself.
Tzyu had trouble when guys put pressure on him, prime Chavez wouldnt give him the space he needs to punch he would make it a close quarters fight and tzyu wasnt very good at that.also Chavez had one of the best chins of all time and Tzyu wouldnt put a dent on it. this fight will be similar to the Rosario fight with Chavez winning by late stoppage, with Tzyu maybe quiting in his stool. stick to talk about Rickys balls like the rest of the nutthugger do,its better for you and for ESB.
