Actually I think he has a fight signed. Knowing how Haye works, he is probably trying to get the public going again. Getting his name out there and getting us fans talking about the fight, which we are all doing, and trying to make sure we watch it

 

Nobody wants to fight the Hayemaker, they all say they do to the media but when it comes to the fight they back out.

I just read that a supposed source close to the Haye side of the Chapman negotiations, said Chapman was offered mid six figures ($500,000?). It goes on to say that the source said the other mentioned fighters were offered much less.

Put this together with Haye talking up Chapman and it all seems really c;lear.

Haye is trying to bluff and bluster his way to a mega-fight with Wlad that he knows he won't win in the ring, but win with the ka-ching. ::deal

JD Chapman is a punching bag. If he really did turn down half a mil for what for him would be two minutes of work, he's truly a moron. That would be an absolutely useless fight.

Kevin Johnson sure sounds like he wants the fight. I say make that one happen. He's not very good either, but at least he seems willing to step right to Haye. Credit for that.

 

Good for JD Chapman, no reason to let Haye get some guy with a padded record just so he can take the 0 away, and say "look I took out a top American HW...:rofl "...everything with Haye so far has been a massive letdown...from delaying his debut, to lowballing opponents, to salivating over a Rahman who was just rocked by Toney, and now his current installment of "musical opponents..."...he has been called out by everyone who is anyone in the division, with the exception of champs and guys with a title shot already...but wants us to believe nobody will fight him...OK.

Come on Haye, go take a boxing lesson from Toney...It's the road Sam Peter took to the title...there will be money, an ATG to help out the resume, and certain hype....or Eddie Chambers, Povetkin went that route...Haye says they are all bums...surely he should be able to defeat the same fighters in more impressive fashion.

If that was true he wouldn't have bothered going up to the HW divison.

Let's put this in perspective:

Haye's team knows that a big $$$ fight with Klitschko is a near certainty next year, as long as he doesn't blow-it between now and then. All Haye needs to do is look impressive (early KO) against a decent heavyweight, correction, a heavyweight with a decent name. So, it's really just a matter of setting up the right tune-up for Haye. Given what is inevitably going to be light work for Haye, it's unbelievably ******ed of his management to even worry about the purse split.
