Well, I am not sure if he belongs at heavyweight in the first place but I will give himm the benefit of the doubt and put that performance on the long lay off.
Only Floyd could get back and stay in top shape.

Loved the interview with Vinnie at the end - he just SOUNDS like a fighter.

Oh well, maybe he'll do better in his next fight. I thought he won a few rounds, even though Mormeck deservedly got the nod.

 

Mormeck would be a good scalp for Adamek after Estrada...

Well they were basically asking him how far he thought Mormeck could go in the HW division, what he should do next, etc.

Vinnie basically said that with 3-4 more fights - tune ups - he should be able to take on the top guys. Said he should take a ten rounder next. Oh, and he said, he'd love to rematch him in a ten rounder.

I bet he would. If we'd had rounds 9 and 10 like I thought we were gonna, Vinnie might've got the KO!!!

 

As to the earlier discussion, the 216 didn't look at all jiggly. Of course, looking to be in good shape is not the same as having a full gas tank, obviously.

He'd win ten out of ten 12-minute contests with a prime Butterbean right now, but he's not winning any HW intercontinental eliminators, let alone world title bouts.

 

Mormeck has questionable endurance as is, didn't see this fight but if he can't take out a guy like Maddalone, then really?

I like Vinny, he's a tough kid.. but so raw and so open to be KO'd by a guy with any skill.. and Mormeck even with a 2 year layoff, if he had ANYTHING really left should be able to KO Vinny.

Sad, Mormeck should have stayed retired.. this has bad idea written all over it.. hope the pays good.
