Yesterday I was thinking about my top 10 cruiserweight in the whole story and I think both could be
    Prime vs prime

    Who wins this war?

    I pick Mormeck late tko

I like Jirov to grind him down.

Probably going with the body work Jirov does to wear Mormeck out late. Probably not a stoppage, but he pulls away on the scorecards to a healthy points win. Interesting matchup but at the end of the day, I do not think mormeck can get this guy out of there & that busy style of Jirov wins the rounds.

Mormeck is a weird case study, because for the first few years on the world class level his two best attributes appeared to be his stamina and his durability, which allow him to overtake guys like Virgil Hill (2X) and Dale Brown. Then in his big coming out fight against Braithwaite he showed a little vulnerability in the stamina department, despite emerging as a star with the win.

After that he faded really badly and got knocked out by 'Supernova' Bell (rip), then labored mightily in the late rounds of the rematch. Then he faded again and got stopped by David Haye.

So with that in mind its hard to know what kind of fighter Jean Marc was. In reality his best asset-like the other JMM-was his precise combination punching.

did Mormeck have too much muscle to have actually fought at light heavyweight for a large portion of his career?
I would have loved to see him and Tiozzo go at it for an all French brawl

    Torn between first two posts.

Mormeck manhandles him..till he wears down and Jirov grinds out the last 3 rounds...

Mormeck Bell is a top 5 CW war for me. The one Mormeck loss. 1st fight? I forget.
Toney Jirov is another . Jirove loss. Both loss, but they brought it and went out on their shields.

I think Jirov is a little overrated, if we are guided by the level of victories Mormeck is far superior. I imagine Jirov controlling the first half of the fight but with a lot of wear and mormeck taking advantage of the fatigue resurfacing from the eighth round
