Well, after getting beaten by Kovalev the first time, he then scraped by Gonzalez in a fight that many, lncluding myself, thought he lost. He then was beaten soundly by Sergei a second time, and took a bad beating in the process without offering much in return. He looked done at that point. But, he's done quite well for himself since that time.
Yep, one could argue that Elbiali was an unproven bit of manufactured hype, and we shan't even dignify the Biosse sideshow with another word about it, but he just trounced a prime young unbeaten guy that most had top 5-10ish h2h (and two major organizations had as their #1 contender) at light heavy. Can't argue with that.
Regarding Callum, at the time I thought he would. I never knew Browne's defense was that bad. It would be hard for me to make that pic now. Outside of the knockdowns and headbutt, Browne was winning every other instance in that fight last night. I would actually pick him to beat Pascal in a rematch. I don't think Browne took Pascal all that seriously.
Kudos for winning. Respect for the achievement. Enjoy it. Would be great to see him retire and go out on a high.
Pascal should either A. call it a day and go out on a winning note after a great career *which I'm almost positive he won't* or B. if he's still ranked #1 by the WBC after winning the WBA interim belt, fight Gvozdyk should the later get past Beterbiev. A fight with the full WBA champ Bivol doesn't hold any appeal given how one-side their encounter was. A fight against Beterbiev would make sense if Artur gets past Gvozdyk because it would be big deal in Canada. However, I'm not sure either of them would want it seeing as they're both friends and former stablemates and personally I wouldn't want to see Pascal take another hammering from another savage puncher at this stage of his career and I have no desire to see him take a load more brain abuse from Gvozdyk either. Maybe he could fight Yarde over in the UK if the later manages to pull it off against an aged and faded Kovalev who seems like he still has problems with the bottle and legal woes hanging over his head. That would be his best bet at getting his hands on another title IMO. But I suspect Haymon will probably talk him into giving Browne a rematch albeit I hope Pascal declines given all the **** Browne pulled regarding rematching Hot Rod. This content is protected
He's average at best. I never liked his boxing to be honest. He should be a relative of yours, if not, I dont understand. Plus that disgusting robbery to gonzález.. puagh! disgusting. Plus his last 9 fights are 4 loses 5 wins. That taking into account that blattant robbery. He should be 5 loses 4 wins. Sorry man, your relative is A-VE-RA-GE. Btw, bernad was 46 years old, and pascal was 28 years old. And yet he lost. Eh, dude, think about it.
Good win for Pascal and exposing Browne as nothing more but a B-fighter. I just wish he could retire on that kind of note, but he’s definitely not retiring.
