Jean Pascal is too risky an opponent even with a belt

    I know he's getting up there in age and he already lost to Bivol, but I've always thought JP gives anyone a tough fight.

    The first cracks I saw in Kovalev's armor were against Pascal, and I think he still has the style to pose problems for a lot of light heavies.

    You would think if Canelo were even remotely serious about winning a title at 175 that Pascal would be on his radar.

    But Pascal seems like the odd man out, which is a shame, he's far more proven then someone like Beterbiev for example, and he's always in entertaining fights.

    Hell yeah, tough and aggressive heavy handed bruiser with no quit and an iron chin? Love JP, always brings it, probably only a few fights left in him but I'm gonna enjoy the ride til the end brother

    Do we just ignore the fact Canelo stopped Kovalev for the WBO 175 title?

    I don't recognize the WBO belt. Especially not the way Kovalev defended it. He fought like that was a paper title he was protecting, not a championship title belt

    Pascal is basically finished. He'll lose against the next decent opponent he faces. It was fun to see Krusher do him a couple of times so easily.

    If that was the case, he would have been Canelo (and the top prospects) next opponent....

    Pascal is extremely dangerous, nobody wants to go there

    Seems like the Kovalev fight was a one-off rather than the beginning of a serious campaign at 175.

    Wouldn't mind seeing more Jean Pascal anyway though.

    Well you would think as one of the belt holders more guys would be lining up to fight. Especially if there's any perception that he's over the hill.

    I don't hear Beterbiev calling for him, or Canelo.....even bivol doesn't seem to want to unify against him.

    Because he doesn't hold a legit belt therefore it wouldn't be a unification.
