Jean Pascal has tested positive for four banned substances. The WBA is a complete joke and decided that six months would teach him the error of his ways. QUESTION; What is a proper punishment? Everyone who replies to this knows most guys are using. What would be a significant punishment to stop that from being the unspoken truth?
This seems fair. I mean he wasn't caught with that awful performance enhancing marijuana in his system.
For him sure. Big Baby Miller same deal though I doubt anyone will see his fat ass box again. What about the guys who only test positive for one drug? For two? A year? Eighteen months?
A two year ban is fair. I think there's too much politics and bureaucracy involved in boxing for the standard ban for testing positive one time. Too much favouritism involved with the star fighters. I think the people on the inside of the boxing world are privy to a lot of information we aren't and already will know beforehand who is doping or not. I don't think it's a massive problem but i do believe some promoters know what's going on and are putting on an act to an extent.
In hindsight it makes perfect sense that he was juicing I mean after the second beating Kovalev gave him he was finished but them somehow regenerates and beats Marcus Browne and Badou Jack
Unfortunately, nothing will be done of any consequence by boxings governing bodies until someone is killed in the ring by someone who is found to have been juicing beyond all doubt. There's just too much money at stake for anything to change for the good.
It is physically impossible to do 3 workouts per day for 8-10 weeks as most high level boxers do during their camps while being natty. Pure cardio, which is pretty intense for a championship boxer. Strength and conditioning, which is not that intense, but still taxing. And boxing drills/sparring, which are way more intense than the pure cardio workouts and also tax your muscles pretty hard. All of this is not possible without using substances.
Exactly. Even take a less physical sport like baseball for example. They pay them huge bucks so they expect a lot. They have to work out, lift weights, run, jump, field grounders, batting practice, stay in tip top shape in order to play virtually every day for 6 months straight. Oh but we expect them to do it naturally.
I was doing jogging/sprints in the morning. On my feet walking all day. 4 hours in the boxing club. And my energy got so good I started working out at home very high intensity dumbell work after the club (this home workout was way more painful than the club workouts), although it was only about 30 minutes. This was daily for a month at least. Taking about 3 naps a day and sleeping 10 hours+ nightly. That’s over 5 hours daily of training. I was by far the strongest and most powerful guy in the club, stopping heavyweights while 156 and breaking my coaches palm through the mitts. All natural. Pacquiao does 4 hours of training. Completely reasonable. If it’s really low intensity, Maybe you can do 6 hours like old Mayweather. In his prime he supposedly trained 8 hours daily. That’s in the realm of just overtraining to me.
Just do what they did for Canelo, move the goalposts for testing...Change the levels required for a failed test. That way, you can cycle for 5 months and then move to Mexico for the last of your training. Claim to have eaten some 'tainted beef' with Bill Clinton and all is well. People will soon forget about the 3 other drugs that you are masking with clen and the casual fans will be none the wiser.
