I'm calling it, Hopkins will be retired by Pascal! Pascal v Hopkins II preview by someone talking sense
thats what I thought the first fight, my money is on b-hop this time, he will outbox pascal, pascal is a good fighter but his opponent is a atg boxer with a sick ring iq, eventhough he is old he is still very much capable of beating pascal.
I think Pascal puts it on him, in the last fight when he did drop hopkins when he did have him hurt in spots he backed off, this fight will be very different, Hopkins isnt reacting to shots like he once did, Pascal retires him very possible we get a stoppage
The fact that there is a website out there that tried to pass this tripe off as journalism points out the general decline of sports writing. Nothing has done more to **** up sports journalism than the internet. Before the first fight I told everyone not to count Hopkins out, and I was right. You can check the record on that. Now I'm gonna tell ya again, do not count BHop out. He should be regarded as the favorite going in to this fight.
Before he first fight, I knew Hopkins would give him a schooling. But what concerned me was how easily Hopkins was got to, and the shocking sight of him allowing someone to put his ass on the canvas. I really hope he hasn't aged further since then. At 46 years of age, it's very possible. But if he's the same old Hopkins, he'll convincingly beat Pascal this time
One of two things will happen: 1) Pascal will learn from his mistakes and do to Hopkins what he did in the first 4 rounds of their fiirst fight and a little bit more earning the 'w' this time about clearly. 2) Hopkins will further adapt and this time get the 'w'. That's how it'll go down mark my words one of these ways.
Hopkins usually looks decent in the fights he's supposed to win and looks pretty good in the fights where he's an underdog just look at his career overall. His best wins/ top performances consist mostly of the fights where he was seen as the underdog(Trinidad, Pavlik, Tarver, Taylor in the first fight if he was the underdog, and his first fight against Pascal). I was amazed how easily he was able to control most of the fight with Pascal and also that a 45 year old man had more stamina than a guy in his late 20's. Bhop was the one pushing the action more too! If Hopkins doesn't decline more or doesn't get knocked down than this is his fight to take. History shows not to count Hopkins out and it really says something about his career that the only man to clearly beat him was a prime Jones.
Hopkins schooled him for several rounds last time out Hopkins will do that again but even more prominent
I usually don't agree with Dwyer but he's on point in this one. BHop has him figured out and isn't likely to get dropped again. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faDtgnGqx50[/ame]
I know you have to forgive the over protective nuthuggers here.... they do get carried away sometimes....
Then again, Hopkins also is known of doing better in rematches BUT his last rematch against a young fighter was against Taylor and I thought he looked better in the first fight which he clearly won through my eyes as the second fight could've gone either way. I'll rewatch the Taylor fights as even though that was 6 years ago, Pascal brings similar traits to Taylor and like the first fight to Taylor, Hopkins outworked him. Go Bhop!
