What i don't get about this fight is how no one has congratulated Pascal on taking an immediate rematch with Hopkins. He could have easily avoided this fight and rematched Dawson but he stepped up to the plate and took on the harder style to prove people wrong. I know he stands to make more money with BHOP but he even negotiated out of the rematch clause to get this fight done and i think he needs to be congratulated on being such a warrior
He does. Pascal doesn't run from anyone and he could've beat Dawson again but he decides to rematch the guy that made him look pretty bad the last time which takes balls to do. I don't like that the WBC screwed with Pascal but I'm glad he chose Hopkins again instead of "Dull" Dawson lol. Both men gave a great fight and I expect another one this month. Hopkins should also get props for going to Canada again.
I think Pascal will on PEDs this time and won't flat out after 5 rounds... Still hard to say though. Hopkins looked very impressive, his experience and intelligence definitely paid off during that fight, especially when Pascal stop doing anything by the 5th round. On the other hand, Hopkins did get drop three times in that fight. Pascal has the power to do it again while Hopkins is now 8 months older and has to train all over again for that fight. Pascal by KO in the seventh.
Unless if Hopkins ages considerably, he will win. He will avoid the KDs and win a close but clear UD. Hopkins was never hurt by the KDs. It was more a case of him being out of position. But they were still KDs but i see him avoiding any this time.
I've said it over and over and I'll say it again, Jean Pascal ****ing sucks. Obviously "sucks" is relative to what he's portrayed as, I mean I recognize he's a pro etc. He has **** for stamina, his power is overrated, he's not tough to hit, and his best win is a technical decision in which he looked like he could be stopped. He looks like Tarzan and fights like Jane as the expression goes, and while it's tough to say what a guy Hopkins age has left in the tank, what I do know is that the dude is a sitting duck and it's a matter of time before he gets his ass beat.
LOL...****, because Dawson would beat his ass in a rematch and he knows it. I mean does anybody really question that? Hopkins wouldn't **** with Dawson even though Dawson begged for the fight, then Pascal has a technical decision fall in his lap, Hopkins immediately jumps at the chance and in the minds of most beat him. There is a reason Hopkins jumped at the chance...because he knows Pascal is vulnerable and not as good as Dawson, but that will be shown in due time.
Pascal did something you can never do against Hopkins and that is let Hopkins get into a nice, Sunday pace type fight. He showed Hopkins too much respect. Hopkins is a defensive minded fighter first and foremost and when you attack him, his first INSTINCT is to defend and then look to counter. Pascal only threw 1-2 shots at a time. Never the unpredictable combinations like he did against Diacuno and Dawson. You will never beat Hopkins by being predictable and throwing 1-2 shots at a time. Pascal's only chance of winning is to make Hopkins uncomfortable. That doesn't mean a high work rate. That means being unpredictable with your attack. By feinting, moving, and letting your hands go in spurts where Hopkins can't predict what will come next. Even JT, a low work rate guy, did this. He exploded with combinations in spurts and that kept Hopkins weary. He didn't know when the next explosive combo would come. Hopkins hates not being able to see what a guy is going to do. That was the case with Taylor and Calzaghe. I think Pascal does have the talent to beat Hopkins. But he has to be unpredictable, feint, move in with explosive combinations when not expected and do it again. He can't just try to box Hopkins on the outside with 1-2 shots and expect to win. No chance.
Too much on the line Bhops will win a split decision he knows he beat Pascal once he can beat him again. Hopkins will make history becoming the oldest champion ever and we will be lucky to be a part of it. The master will humble the young lion once again. Cant wait!
