McIntosh is getting backed up and jabbed in the face. Alvarez takes his time, patiently looking for openings, tossing rights behind the jab while swiveling side to side at range and staying loose and fluid. McIntosh lowers his guard, maybe daring Alvarez to lunge in, then picks it up again. Alvarez cracks him with a right. Clinch. McIntosh jabs to one side of Alvarez's body and falls in with a right to the other side but gets caught and held.

Round 5

McIntosh is leading with his flip-up jab and trying to squeeze a right hand down the pipe behind it. Alvarez is too quick on his feet and has counters aplenty at the ready, picking McIntosh off with his own jabs and crosses while turning him. Alvarez works his way in without punching, crowding McIntosh near the ropes but keeping two feet off. Alvarez lands a jab to the body and ducks a McIntosh jab. Clinch. McIntosh hops in place, then moves right. Alvarez sprins away from a McIntosh jab. Body comob by Alvarez, caught on the forearms. Wild upward-traveling hooks by Alvarez, missing. Two-piece by Alvarez, rocking McIntosh but not budging his feet.

Both Alvarez's power and McIntosh's chin are "decent".

 

Round 6

Alvarez bends in and works the body with quick uppers. Flash combo up top by Alvarez. McIntosh backs up and catches a jab on the gloves. Alvarez circles left smoothly, and pulls a matador move with his arms up as McIntosh rushes him. Quick right hand by Alvarez. McIntosh eats a jab, trying to time it with his right palm to block but failing. Alvarez shoulder rolls to slip a McIntosh jab. NICE sequence by Alvarez, jabbing out very far and then turning it over into a scoring hook off the jab coming forward. McIntosh squats and reaches over with a right to the body. Alvarez lands a counter right hand and left hook as McIntosh tosses a tomahawk left at him. They lean together for a breather. Ref orders a break. Jab by McIntosh.
