Round 8 was a good round for Pascal.

 

It shows even pascal know he lost, I dont get why people try to go so hard against the truth, hopkins schooled this guy in his hometown and won 8 rounds. he should have won the fight.

 

By the way have you seen the punchstats, hopkins outlanded pascal almost every round

 

I think the 10th and 12th rounds were very close and very hard to score. But the thing is, to get a draw you gotta give both those rounds to Pascal, plus a 10-8 3rd (3rd was definitely a 10-9 though...honestly I'm not sure either knockdown was legit).

I guess I'll go rewatch Round 8...anybody else score that one for Pascal?

I scored it a draw live and I think it's being blown out of all proportion personally. I'm not sure why people are bringing up punchstats either, boxing isn't based on stats.

Round 3 was a 10-8 round as well. Of course Hopkins was winning the round, but not in such a dominant fashion as to negate the KD.

Regardless, Hopkins has still got it and I think we'd all put money on him if there's to be a rematch. He's just such a smart fighter.

Its a close fight if you score within the official rules. You cant tot up a scorecard round by round, then when the fights finished, think hmm!, who deserved to win more? I know!, I will go back and change this round, that round, as it doesn't matter, based on the 10 point must system, how much you dominate the rounds you win, cause you dont get extra credit for it, not unless you get a KD, well I think you can, but not many people exercise that rule.

I personally dont think you judge a fight on how you! think it should be scored, I believe you should judge it on how you think the judge will score it, based on the official criteria that the rules state it should be scored within, cause if we all apply our own logic, our own ideals, we will come to wildly inaccurate scores.

I dont think Hopkins won that round clearly enough to negate a 10-8 round. You have to make a conscious effort to swing a 10-8 round back your way imo, Hopkins did'nt do enough for me. I guess you could say, well if the KD were bogus in the first place, should he need to make such a big effort to swing it back his way? fair point, I guess that would come down to your interpretation of the KD, but it still counted officially, so..

Was the fight that easy to score though? cause Hopkins was still getting nailed with the odd right hand, or left hook, even when he won some of the rounds he won. Infact I have seen various people say Hopkins won the 12, only from what I remember, Pascal landed the cleaner punches.

To be honest, I think people are claiming it was a robbery cause they are disgruntled fans who'd rather Hopkins would of won, so they are trying to justify the term robbery, as its more hard hitting, head line making, I personally dont think Pascal deserved to win, im easy with a draw, or a Hopkins win, but this fight was close based on if you score within the official rules imo.

 

Yeah man I agree with you. I think a close fight can still be a robbery especially in this case. The only reason it was close is because of 2 flash knockdowns. Hopkins dominated the rest for the most part. Hopkins was denied being the oldest champ in history thanks to a hometown decision.
