Is the commentry somewhat muted for you guys? It sounds as if they are broadcasting from a phonebooth which is under water?

    Round 1

Jacobs jabs to the body and throws some lunging right hands as Orta tries to block and move his head. Orta is letting Jacobs lead and only coming back with soft flurries upstairs, easily blocked. Jacobs flinches away from a few jabs, seemingly unwilling to give Orta the satisfaction of landing anything on him. Jacobs keeps drilling his jab into Orta's forehead. Orta tries a high-reaching 1-2 but telegraphs it. Jacobs keeps working the body while circling and stalking. Jacobs' corner asks for the jab and gets it. Orta tries to jab with him but his lesser reach and speed lose out. Fast combo by Jacobs

    10-9 Jacobs

That left hook to the body near the end of the round, froze Orta. Jacobs will be smart to work the body more.

    Round 2

Orta is coming forward and flashing his hands while Jacobs tries to line up a straight right hand. They clinch up and spin out. Time out is called to have DJ's trunks adjusted by his corner. Jacobs comes out with a quick double jab. Jacobs combines jabs with uppercuts to the body. Jacobs hangs on the outside, darting in and pecking away patiently while his corner yells out slow, concise instructions. Orta just keeps trying to walk inside with a peekaboo. Jacobs lights him up with a fast one-handed combo, throwing jabs and hooks with the left all up and down Orta's guard. Orta misses a 1-2 as Jacobs slides along the ropes.

    20-18

Its a shame that jacobs has a fight while pirog is still sitting on the shelve.

    Round 3

Orta tries to get close but isn't doing much work once he gets there, just getting countered with fast flashy punches in combination. Orta tries some different angles, crouching down and sticking his left arm out as he tries to spear his way in from either side. Jacobs uses good footwork, stays moving and continues to land scoring blows but nothing hugely damaging. Jacobs hits Orta with a two-fisted underhand attack to the stomach. Orta lands a right hand as Jacobs circles lazily. Jacobs shoves several jabs in Orta's face, then opens up with a body combo. Orta comes forward headfirst and pays for it despite his hands being up.

    30-27

Well, that was Pirog's third fight of 2010.

As long as he resumes being active early in the year he'll be OK.
