Orta is aggressive but ineffective. Jacobs starts experimenting with more types of combination, curling high overhand rights together with hooks to the body. Jacobs continues to score accurately with good hand speed but isn't putting much torque on anything. Slapping right to the body by Jacobs. Orta flashes his hands at Jacobs' face on the inside and Daniel uses quick reflexes to turn away without getting hit. Nice 1-2 by Jacobs. Orta lands a jab to the face but Jacobs lands one at the same time. Orta puts a glove against one nostril and blows out some blood. Jacobs leans up and down throwing the 1-2 and lone jabs, looking very calm as Orta tries to find a route inside without getting hit. Orta holds out his left arm like a stick as Jacobs walks him into a corner and unloads with some combos.

Round 5

Jacobs jabs moving forward as Orta tries to skip laterally and look for opportunities to jump in with lead hooks. Orta again sticks his left arm out as a range finder but Jacobs is simply moving around it and landing quick shots. A double jab from Jacobs is followed by a hard right hand that makes Orta wince and drift to the ropes. Jacobs lets him off the hook. Two hard body shots by Orta as Jacobs slows down. Jacobs leans his shoulder against Orta's and then explodes with two hard hooks to the body. Jacobs lands another nice body hook. Jacobs is landing very well with the hook now. Orta is getting drilled to the body, often by two quick shots at a time. Jacobs switches his focus to straight combos upstairs, battering the high guard of Orta. A huge right hand by Jacobs rocks Orta as the smaller man opens up and it's stopped.

 

Yeah...that wasn't a thriller.

It was probably great for Golden Boy's confidence, though.

He'd still get KTFO in a Pirog rematch. Apparently he's a super middleweight now, though?
