Jean Pascal vs. Bernard Hopkins & undercard RBR

Most people thought he deserved the decision against Manuel Charr (lost a majority decision) who has honestly looked to be about on the same level as Fury.

 

Round 1

Fury throws several jabs down at the head of Page, who grimaces and rolls his shoulders side to side. Page blocks several straight shots from Fury, then drops his hands and uses head movement to evade some more. No offense from Page. Fury throws a hard 1-2 into a clinch. Page finally throws a few arm punches, his right hand clapping harmlessly against Fury's chest. Fury jabs from long range, fighting tall. Page keeps his forearms up in front of his face, and dives in with a left to the body but falls short. They clinch up.

Emanuel Steward is in Fury's corner tonight.

Hopkins just arrived to the Pepsi Coliseum, taking his hat and coat off now in the dressing room.

 

True, this isn't really bad shape by his standards.

 

Round 2

Page brings a bit more noise, flailing up high while rolling his head and shoulders. Fury times him with jabs to the face and lands a nice right hand. Page gets frustrated and moves in to clinch. Marlon Wright warns Fury about pushing the back of Page's head. Fury starts throwing a crisp 1-1-2, with Page blocking the jabs but getting physically moved by the right hands. Fury opens up with some big whipping combos and Page blocks a little more than half the punches but is still being affected. Page can't get inside on the taller man and eats a big uppercut to the chin while trying. Page keeps his arms out trying to catch Fury's hands but is getting timed and can't move his head out of the way of everything coming at him.

Round 3

Fury scores with long jabs. Page keeps attempting to clamp his gloves together to catch Fury's shots but is just a tad too slow. Page tosses his fists up near Fury's face but has no angle to get any leverage on them whatsoever from how far out he is. Fury won't allow him any closer, using the jab well. Big 1-2 from Fury makes Page decide to take a chance to get out of this range, and dive inside to clinch. Fury punishes him for clinching with some digs to the body and shoeshines.
