Pascal will win 7 rounds to 5 in a very slow and tactical fight (i dont much mind such types of fights... but it will be a stinker) I think it will be similar to the JT v BHOP fights... BHOP starting too late, taking the middle rounds and then losing round 12
You seem to forget that just 3-4 months ago. Dawson was almost universally recognized as the man to beat at 175lbs. Not to mention Cloud was an untested nobody and Hopkins was shot. Now since the king (Dawson) was kicked off his throne by a little french canadian kid from Montreal all of a sudden he was nothing special and Pascal still needs to prove himself. :deal
Personally, I never really bought Dawson as the man. He had to beat at least two of the three (Hopkins, Cloud, and Pascal) to solidify it for me.
Pascal WAS hurt by Omar Pittman, although that was a long time ago, and he still has major defensive holes. I don't know if I'd say his chin is 'at least granite.' But it's probably good enough to avoid getting knocked out by Old Man Popkins, who couldn't hurt shot to **** shaky chinned Roy Jones. And even at 46 years old, Hopkins rarely gets hit cleanly and almost never has been hurt when he has. I think it's a pretty safe call to say this one goes the distance.
Any proof of that opinion pre Dawson-Dawson fight? No offense, but there seem to be a lot of people who "knew all along" when a good fighter loses. You know what I mean?
If Hopkins wins this one he will catapault very high on my ATG list. To me Hopkins is the best fighter of my generation. This would just solidify it. I was actually watching the Pascal-Dawson fight last night. It was very surprising to see Dawson beaten like that. I definately was not expecting it. I think Pascal is just too fresh for Hopkins but that old man is so very very tricky. Come on Hopkins!!
Hopkins once again shows hes one of the best ever an frustraits pascal and wins a comfortable decision. ill say this if hopkins wins like i think he will he will be an icon in the sport forever at 46 years of age.
That request is a little insulting, frankly. My reputation of integrity doesn't supersede needing to ask for proof of my opinion? I've been consistent for a while now on having Dawson, Pascal and Cloud all pretty much neck and neck (with Hopkins just hanging around). This post is from the day after Pascal-Dawson: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7536593&postcount=16 This one is from a couple of months before: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7055610&postcount=26 This is about the Dawson-Pascal fight, from three months before it: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=6867988&postcount=22 This thread is also from three months before Cloud-Johnson and Dawson-Pascal (my vote was for the winners of the two fights to meet to determine "the man"). http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226091 I've held all three of the young fighters in the top 4 in about equal esteem in h2h terms for a very long time.
Exactly what I was thinking, Bhop has problems with faster, high energy opponents. Roy Jones(93), Jermaine Taylor and Calzaghe all were able to get victories by out hustling him. Bernard is still good enough to exploit their weaknesses, but not able to do enough of it due to their energy.
