I will be a little surprised if Pascal actually takes this fight. It is a huge risk with little reward. If pascal wins then he is a legit top 10 SMW. But he is already ranked there so why not take another easy fight or two and wait for an elimination bout or title fight. A loss to Zuniga and Pascal's stock plummets hard. He has looked awful in his last two fights. Not sure what GYM is thinking.
Pascal is not Top 10; not even close, yet. He needs this fight, if his career is to maintain momentum. It is high risk, true, but it looks like Pascal needs to be motivated by a dangerous, good opponent to give of his best. So...it's trial by fire for him. Hopefully, it will fire him up.
I don't know if a lot of people here knew but Pascal was injured for his last two fights. Rotator cuff injury. But instead of healing it, he wanted to have the fight against Miranda so he fought. He had no power in his left hand and limited speed. He basically beat these two guys one handed. If you watch the fights closely, you'll notice he only uses one arm. He is now healed and is preparing himself for Zuniga. In the past, he never prepared for a specific fighter. For example, he learned that he was fighting Ikeke two weeks before the fight. Same thing for the other two afterwards. Be prepared to see something special on that night. Zuniga is going to have his hands full of the speed and power of Pascal. Pascal KO. Ngoudgo UD
Really? Where did you hear that from, Pharaoh? Is there an official WBC statement or just rumour? tuna mentioned something similar appearing in the Montreal press...
Zuniga and Pascal is scheduled for 10 rounds... I'm not so sure if it's a WBC eliminator. But anyway, I would love to see the winner of this one against Froch for the vacant WBC bell.
