Oh, you think Pascal didn't have his MarleyWright card to survive the round.

    I tend to agree.

I think Chad Dawson was coming on very strong, don't know about Pascal getting stopped but Chad was turning the fight around.

Add to that, the fact that Chad was with Eddie Mustafa Muhammad (the trainer he had most success with imo), all EMM fighters are strong down the stretch, that's what Eddie is renowned for!

Flashy, Pascal won clearly the 11 first rounds. Dawson should have started earlier if he wanted to win. Pascal was not in danger anymore when the cut occurred. Maybe, maybe Dawson could have KO'd Pascal in the 12th but the odds are not pointing toward that way.

Pascal had to survie one more round. He was largely ahead on the cards and Dawson is not a KO artist. But he was winning the end of the fight for sure.

The limit was 184. Pascal should be heavier. His weigh is a bit more than 1 hour.

Pascal gassed out really bad in 11 round and Dawson took the control of the fight landing good shots on him.

Maybe Pascal still would've won if the fight would've went 12 full rounds or ..... maybe not.

So when Larouche had said he's 4lbs under the limit he meant the 184 limit...

And I thought he meant the 175 LHW limit.

Why is there a seven day limit? Who cares what they weigh a week out? As long as they both make weight on Friday they should be good to compete on Saturday. :?

I know the WBC (parent of the NABF, whose title Pascal and Bute are vying for) requires a 30-day weigh-in - but why so many hoops to jump through? Having a 30 and 7 day and day before weigh-in seems like overkill.

Or is the seven-day one not the WBC, and just something negotiated between camps in the contracts? (if so, ridiculous on the part of whichever side asked for it)

They do it for all WBC title fights. It is supposed to be done for fighters safety. To make sure they are not losing a ridiculous amount of weight in the final week.

The IBF have their own version, where a fighter can't weigh more than 10lbs over the limit on the morning of the fight.
