Côté was sick. He couldn't train like he wanted to because he was always tired for some reason. Maybe he gave up boxing. Zewski is on card though.
On their website, they list their roster as: Jean-François Bergeron Lucian Bute Pier-Olivier Côté Adrian Diaconu Benoit Gaudet Sébastien Gauthier Renan St-Juste ... I suspect their webmaster has been too busy to update that...or quit his job for lack of pay and never got replaced. Bergeron has been retired for almost five years, Diaconu for almost three. When both of them were still active, Gaudet was a 20-1 prospect but has now been knocked out twice since then. Likewise Gauthier was 17-1 in those days but has lost thrice since, twice by KO. Renan St. Juste, same deal, he was 20-1-1 then but has lost thrice and been knocked out twice...and is 41 years old. If that was their roster at their peak and they haven't really been working on developing young new talent...:!: Yeah. Bad future planning. It really is just Bute and Côté - and while both are talented, neither is in a position to be the #1 guy and face of a promotion right now with Bute heading into a crossroads match where he could easily be stopped and set back severely in his career, while Côté has seen his own career badly damaged by inactivity and drop-off in level of competition.
IB : That's why Ibox and GYM are now partners, they will always (or most of the time) make events together in co-promotion. That will enable them to put boxers of both promotional companies on the same cards. The only remaining boxers with a contract with Ibox are Bute and the new acquisition, Yves Ulysses Jr. who will make his pro debut on saturday's card. New account, so I can't post links yet, I guess you can access his BR page this way : http : // boxrec . com/list_bouts.php?human_id=673141&cat=boxer
What is the story with Ulysses? Blue chip amateur? All I can find is that he beat a Scottish guy 13:5 to get a gold medal in some minor tournament in Serbia.
