Nah. i'm kidding. But I can't be arsed to say anything nice about him as we have a 25 Kirk$ bet on some fight.
By the way, GYM and Interbox are fusing together. If you guys speak french here's a link: http://www.rds.ca/1.774787
No. There are not fusing together. GYM will let Interboxe die, simply. Interboxe has no boxer right now. They have no futur. Interbox wants GYM to buy them, but it just won't happend. Yvon Michel is smarter then that.
Not what's happening. Almost exactly the contrary. They will collaborate on many occasions like they are doing for the Bute-Pascal show. Interbox and Gym are beginning to fear that other promoters come to Montreal and decided to unite their forces. Interbox is stronger in the promotional area with their sports bar restaurants and GYM is stronger with fighters and matchmaking. Interbox don't want to organize many fight nights per year so they weren't signing any new prospect because they couldn't assure their development well. From now on they will be able to sign a couple of guys and make them fight on GYM cards. Interbox just signed Yves Ulysse, a 140 pounds fighter who has just turned pro.
What about the possibility that at the end of a very long career, Hopkins has not the same chin he used to have? Pascal has never knocked down a good opponent. Never. I'm not saying he can't knock Bute down but he will not necessarily knock him down like you said.
He did buzz Dawson pretty severly. And Diaconu as well. He can pop. Not saying he'll knock Bute out but it's more likely than unconceivable.
I was just answering to someone saying that he would for sure knock Bute out. Pascal hits strong but he's not a KO artist.
The facts is that if we break it in % the highest part of the whole is Pascal by Ko. Bute was easily hurt in his last 2 fights. Grachev is an average puncher and we can expect Pascal to at least be able to match that power level. Now we might want to believe that the reason for that is the way he killed himself to make 168 but we don't know that for sure. It could be just wishful thinking from us fans. On the other side, Pascal did dropped Hopkins that wasn't dropped since 1995 against Segundo Mercado. Past his prime or not that man will always be hard to knock down, Pascal did it and it's not wishful thinking like in the other case. Also Bute mentally freezes when faced adversity when driven away from his comfort zone. Happened with Andrade, with Froch and Grachev. Found a solution against Gracev, very simple but probably requires a lot of courage in a situation like that, and also might not work against a better opponent. That is simply, Fight Back! Maybe he doesn't have the survivor instincts, because he was never thought to fight that way. He was thought to always have the plan in mind(A or B or C) and stick to that. When he is put in a total unknown place he simply thinks Protect Yourself and make it trough the end of the round. But the fact is that he still needs to trow back otherwise his opponent won't stop punching and one of those will get him. Also Bute reflexes seemed to me to be slowing down which is the death of a fighter of his type, look RJJ. I really hope I'm wrong but the facts are against Bute in this one. Pascal is a more than worthy opponent. Bute tactics needs to be flawless, he must have a plan for every situation Pascal might drag him into. To be mentally prepared for unexpected. Maybe he learned from the Froch fight and gained confidence from the Grachev one, seen that it can be done. And also needs not to be to much on the decline as a result of getting older.
I agree, but not only that he will have to stay up. He cannot go down 2/3 times even if he is not knocked out. It's a big if though, with his chin.
Bute will have to use his legs like he did before and block with his hands because his reflexes are not what they used to be and he cannot rely only on upper body movement.
