Branco was pretty terrible really. If the Pascal that fought Diaconu showed up, Branco would've been Ko'ed in 2 rounds.
Nice to see Jean get the win to set up Pascal/Diaconu 2. Sounds like he looked like **** for much of the fight though, which is disappointing. Judging by some of his pre-fight comments, his whole gameplan was to get the KO. Russ Anber (an assistant trainer of Pascal) said earlier this week that he didnt like Pascals demeanor leading up to the match. Said he was to calm and relaxed, and he wouldve preferred Jean to be intense and focused. Maybe he was right. Sounds like the card overall was ****. Glad I didnt pay for it. Seriously, GYM should've at least had a better undercard. Next week they have Decarie vs. Shamone Alvarez, David Lemieux vs. Donnie McCrary, Troy Ross vs. TBA. They should've put at least 2 of those fights on this card, considering that it was a PPV. Anyone know ths scores at the time of the stoppage?
It was worth it for me £6.27, I had to do something as I wasn't tired, but its 4am. My score was 87-84 to Pascal without the 2 disutble knockdowns, so if mine was official i'd have it 87-82, although two of the 3 round I gave to Branco were close, so it could be wider.
well for 6.27, its not a bad deal. But here in Canada, I think they were charging a lot more more than that, which is ridiculous, as it shouldve been on free TV.
Yeah GYM really miss-judged the market on this one. They might have thought PAscal's star power was greater then it actually is in Montreal/Quebec. But hopefully this is a good thing, cause it should show them that although pascal walks and talks like a superstar he isn't one yet and he needs to mature more to become one. For instance he needs to learn that pretty much any guy in the top 15 can be dangerous and you need to focus and for every opponent. Still he did well in getting the stoppage. and was fighting well once he got into it.
To be honest I love hs attitude and he's just a good talker, I dont think he genuinely believes hes a superstar.
Pascal and Diaconu will have a rematch. They'll decide in a couple of days if it's on December the 11th. Then, the next mandatory will be the Dawson-Johnson winner but Pascal may have time for another optional before.
