Buzzing after watching that fight, I was for Pascal even though he was really up against it but watching it I think he can do better than he did. I gave him like 3 rounds, he was countering Kovalev well, but any time Pascal started to get wild Kovalev really hurt him, Pascal boxed better last night than he has in the past and Jones is giving him a few things, but still needs to be worked on. I thought he was dangerous all fight and Kovelev was shook by the odd shot here and there. Kovalevs relentless pressure was able to expose Pascals flaws like when he lost concentration or tried to force an exchange. Pascal needs to keep that discipline and to keep the crowd out and stay focuesd 100% of the time. Pascal was in serious trouble for the stoppage, but the ref should have maybe given him a count. And Pascal defiantley should have taken a knee. I was going mad aswell when he was lying against the ropes. That was madness, he needs to iron them mistakes out. I'd be up for a rematch and I do belive Pascal can do better. Kovalevs may have taken a lot out of him though. Il eat crow here too after picking Pascal, I underestimated Kovalevs chin I thought some of them shots Pascal landed would have put him on ***** street but he 's sturdier than I gave him credit.
Pascal is brave and can beat most light heavies. You might recall him in a war with Froch at super middle a few years back which went the distance, which he lost. He can't beat this hard punching and aggressive Sergey Kovalev at 175. This guy is too strong.
You do realize the Froch-Pascal fight was 7 years ago. The last time Pascal has beaten a top 15 fighter was 4-5 years ago. While a good win for Kovalev and Pascal came to fight he's a bit faded. Props for Kovalev for knocking him out his power is unreal and his chin stands up. The division is heating up with some good contenders coming up and a Stevenson fight on the horizon. Kovalev can only get better.
maybe aye it might have just been him hurt though that made him less sharp, he did look a bit leaner than normal
aye that was watching live I thought he might have got one of the early ones in his hometown, the majoirty gave him the two which i think is right hardly that funny
i had the same score ...it looked like pascal was really starting to get to kovalev and was gonna ko him. pascal was landing body shots with good regularity and it seemed to be sapping kovalev of energy. i could see pascal trying to set kovalev up for th ko....kovalev adjusted, though....got on his toes and started boxing behind the jab. i was kinda surprised to see a ee fighter adopting an american style...i guess his coach is teaching him some new tricks.
on this forum if you even hint that kovalev got touched up a lil bit, the kovalites will call you a troll and call for you to be "banned"...i think it's because they're a buncha communist thugs and not accustomed to free speech.
Dont think he could have kept that up I was just hoping for one of them counters to hurt him, I think he should have been more defensive. Kovalev is a serious fighter though he's going to take some beating Yeah when he went behind the jab he starte having his way again, still think Pascal made some poor mistakes though
pascal made a lotta mistakes...but that's how he fights. if he can learn some better technique he'd be a lot more effective in a rematch.
yeah man, Id give him a good shot but I think Stevenson might edge it on points. Wouuld be a great fight though someone put up a fight between them in the amatuers and it was an absolute ******* both just all out. I think i seen someone say they wouldnt fight each other because there friends I wasnt too big on Pascal before the fight would like to see him do well though should take a few lesser guys first imo
